This man just beat the #1 Zangief in the world and he's only been using him for like 2 months lol. Scary hrs. Time to test Snake Eyez now who's known to have the best Gief footsies. I think it all comes back to the way this man just understands "Street Fighter" in general. The thing about him when it comes to tournaments is he's absolutely all for counter picking you and will use whomever he thinks is best. Having Gief in his kit even puts some of the top tiers on notice like Cammy and Juri. Caba used Guile and he straight whipped out JP to sweep him lol. Definitely going to rack up some big placements in tourneys to say the least.

despite Kobayan have a lot more time with Gief, Mena's experience using grapplers is on display here, he play very similar to his Birdie in SFV using a lot the stmk and st mp to poke his opponents and stop their approach, and he will not have fear using the SPDs also he actually use the counter Thundra storm twice he actually knows how to use that even against the Drive Reversal of gief. Amazing work of the Strongest Bull.........now the STRONGEST BEAR XD (cause Zangief).

Let's be honest, Menard is just chillin until Capcom decides to add birdie if that happens. All these amazing games with different characters, but I wonder what he would do with Birdie if added. Prob still beat the brakes off people.

As a Gief main, Mena was using A LOT of noob tech lol. Goes to show you NOT to over think this game. The basics WILL WIN YOU FIGHTS.

It works better at higher levels when they dont expect you to commit to a cheesy and obvious setup. Thats why you see Zangief getting away with so many Headbutts. Yes its +4 on block, but its 14f startup. The opponent has 9 frames to beat it out which most characters thats 1 of 6 buttons. But top level players would rather block the second headbutt then press and get counterhit.

I think Menard didn't win the game, he lost it because of the excitement of the guinea pig. Also, the fact that at least 4 times in the game, uncontrolled and even astonishing moves turned out in his favor means that he won with the luck factor. (PLAYING WELL IS NOT ENOUGH TO WIN 😉)
