No idea how his MR is so high, he plays pretty badly. Un optimal combos, drops combos. If he was on classic I don’t think he would pass level 3 diamond

Yeah, im am diamond 5 with Modern Ryu, and i do a lot more optimal combos and classic executions than him... He is pretty basic

you only saw a couple of games ,he might had a off day or something never know .

Optimized damage only decreases the amount of mistakes your opponent can make, which is useful ofc but it's not paramount But creating situations where you deal damage to your opponent is more important, as well as capitalizing on their mistakes
