5:16 this is such a sick demon setup, drive rush and intentionally whiff your jab on their wakeup into Demon. A top player will see the jab and think “okay so I will block that meaty jab and be in blockstun and therefore not grab-able by demon so I don’t have to worry about that, then I can escape” but actually because the jab misses they aren’t in blockstun and therefore are able to be grabbed by the demon. It uses their reactions against them.

Can anybody tell me why JP players don't mix in the projectile grab?? I would think that they would throw those in randomly to make them have to guess wether it's going to be projectile or grab. You know the two that look alike is like a ghost that moves across the screen, the projectile throws a punch but the grab similar but when the arm reaches out instead of punching it grabs anyways JP players always go projectile, so their opponents always know that and just block for projectile therefore they never get hit with those. Mix them in and it opens them up to both projectile and grab hits. Please explain why they don't do this, anybody.

1. It's unavailable to you when you have departure out. 2. Unlike ghosts, you're stuck in a casting animation for it's entire duration, so they can jump on you for free if close enough. Very risky.

The projectile grab is awful at high level play at most ranges it is 100% reactable. I'm only Master rank and I never get hit by it. It only has use as a meaty wakeup or point blank parry read.

you can, itd be quartercircle back and two buttons, or quarter circle forward and 2 buttons, i played modern jp for a bit but you lose some good lights and mediums. all specials are available though, except for the heavy version of stirbog, which is also a bit of a nerf as you cant knock fullscreen without od stirbog.

Its because of popularity bias. there are 5 shotos in this game, all of which are very popular picks. if you dont play the game often, you one, probably don't have the patience for even simple projectiles, and two, aren't running into rarer tp characters like jp or dhalsim. so when scrubs nag, they nag about what beat them.

Yeah, thats what I hate about JP. at high level. He's a sick, patient zoner who's gameplan revolves around making openings for departure set ups... but since he's also the final boss of wt, his moves are designed to feel like fighting an snk boss if you aren't past level 80, meaning unless your opponent is pretty good, he feels brainless to play and cheap to fight.

Capcom should really buff Akuma a bit at least, either give him more health or a Little more damage. The glass cannon thing made sense since SF4 imo because he was more versatile of most of the other characters, but after that everyone got a lot more combos and new game mechanincs to better face him, so now it's unnecessary, It makes him look averege instead of a top tier. Or of they don't want to buff his stats, at least give him back his zanku hadouken while jumping back so he can zone his opponent better

@@erickcrm maybe you're right about Daigo, but I've seen other top players getting their ass kicked using Akuma, and the common thing that I've seen is that even if they pull a perfect combo with maximum damage, one mistake and the opponent immediatly catch up because of Akuma's poor health, and it doesn't seems fair to me

He is a monster in master rank right now and does not need any help at the moment. Take my opinion with a grain of salt until we get more data, but losing with Akuma is kinda a skill issue

They are characters whos gameplan usually is limiting the interactions, hence why its not so fun as an expectator. As a player, i understand it being frustrating when fighting a zoner as you might feel that once every X games you cant play THE game, having to play THEIR game instead.

I believe that is only said because of the predicament he could put you in if you allow him to isn't like other characters in the game. His comes from zone rather than rush. From what I'm seeing about this game, & how it looks designed- is how it makes you vurnable either in lack of health or lack of super energy. It makes you have to continously reach & strategist how to balance your super heath without burnout. It keeps you moving & thinking. Most characters are in your face having to make those decisions. Jp can make most of those decisions playing keep away before he gets a comfy confirm to get in your face like other characters because he has a disadvantage at the rush style from other characters. With most characters fighting in JP zone ( considering the person maining him understand how to utilize him) you can get through it but you will likely drop your super health doing so risking burnout to get in & vice versa for JP mainer when keeping away. So I don't think the issue is he's broken, he looks to me to be a fair character with weak points you can exploit like other characters of the game.. I think it's more of the distance it takes to do it & it's not as like other characters in the game. But I've never played this game, so idk. Just an outside perspective.
