does anyone know if "SFA" has a definitive meaning, abbreviation, etc? i heard from a VERY reliable source, 80s NYHC band that it literally means "StandsForAnything" always been curious

There were different names when the band first started and when we started actually learning how to play and actually sound okay, we talked about changing the name but decided to keep it as "Stands For Anything" This was meant to be a frustrating joke, like the classic "Who's on First" routine by Abbott and Costello. A conversation would go like this... Does SFA stand for anything? Yes... exactly Well what does it stand for? Stands for Anything So the letters can mean anything? no But you said it stands for anything. Yes exactly and so on and so on

@@BrendanSFA ROGER MIRET was actually the one that said, "IT LITRALLY "StandsForAnything", im 46 & have met him quite a few times over the years, i happened to be wearing the FUCK THE SCENE T & asked him if he knew as for someone who was recording the LP onto cassettes & tellin friends U GOTTA CHECK OUT THIS SHIT OUT, felt kinda like a poser foe never truly knowing, 10yrs ago, i broke into a nazi's house & stole their firearms, i dont fuck w/guns, i didn't want them having any either & it got out & we fist fought, he totally ript my SFA T in half but i sown it back together & those fucks got ran off. I have SOLACE CD & 2 SFA 7in, 1 may be a split. I grew up a loner until HS, older brother turnt me on to punk/hc when i was in 5th grade & listened to the entire misfits discography daily, along w/7 seconds, GBH, murphys law, exploited, etc & it wasn't til HS i met few punks my age but luckily my bro did let me tag along to shows once i was out of elementary, personally i really dug NY PUNK/HC style, listened to sheer terror, yuppicide, sfa, af, cromags, warzone, etc. Strange, i stil listen to 80s punk/hc more than anything including current punk/hc, like GG ALLIN said, he was tryng to make rock n roll dangerous again, its strange that punk/hc was sorta chaotic & dangerous as punks usually were the outsiders, didnt fit in w/other social clubs & got harassed by the normal kids & jocks so i felt like i FINALLY could relate to a few ppl as i said i was a loner & i knew punk was more than a passing fad of strange clothing, green/blue hair, mohawks & combat boots, this was a lifestyle that i would NEVER abandon, a lot has changed tho, like everything corporations want to exploit & make money resulting in todays kids, shit seems really watered down, we'd have to take bus into bad neighborhoods to find band Ts, cassettes, vinyl & see live music wher now thers trendy shops in mall to get studded belt, band Ts, etc & now, ive worked ALOT of restaurants as i had no education (i get disability now for mental illness) & the same kids would start shift off with pop radio, then a hip hop cd, then throw in sum current punk & its ok to be open minded to other music but its not for outsiders& outcasts anymore, lil fast, nothing more, no messages of unity, no diy ethics, it seemed bizarre askin them bout punk & they didn't know/didn't care about the roots.. ramones & DC beginnings of minor threat, black flag, bad brains, etc, i realized if i put time into checkin out hardcore/punk communities on FB, some members of bands i grew up listening to are posting authentic hc/punk bands along with other adults & younger kids that are posting bands that are still underground, angry/pist off, i stil appreciate & listen to those bands & always lookin for bands that have formed in last 10yrs to current as im stuck on 80s punk/hc WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOIN TO REUNITE TO PLAY THE NEW MORALITY IN ITS ENTIRETY (?) have to make roadtrip 💀☠️💀
