The phantoms are the souls of the children who were forcibly removed from their animatronic prison but still kept that look outta familiarity for the fans. "Ah, look there's a crying child ghost. There's another... and another... another... which ones which again?" see how that sounds.

My favorite parts in the two most recent entries in The Interviewed series are when the Good Bloke is paired with Withered Bonnie and Ennard. The three have this dynamic that warms my heart for some reason. I hope the Good Bloke doesn't die cause I want to see more moments with him, Withered Bonnie, and Ennard.

In the actual _Five Nights at Freddy's_ video games' lore, the phantom animatronics are simply just hallucinations experienced by Michael Afton during the gameplay of _Five Nights at Freddy's 3._ In j-gems's "The Interviewed" series, they are supposed to be the ghosts/spirits of the Missing and Dead Children's Incidents.

All of them are spirits haunting the animatronics. At the start of "An interview with Foxy" we see them blow up, that is when their souls took the form of the animatronics they've haunted before said explosion.
