the beauty of these VHS tapes, from my perspective, it adds the "realism" in the fnaf franchise. As creepy as the L O R E already is, these VHS tapes make it feel very uneasy, very unsettling and completely, hands down, HORRIFYING. Kudos to the creators and shoutout to Scott Cawthon for not only showing support towards these projects, but also encourages fans to do more stuff like this!

I gotta say the section at 11:15 really gets me, its emphasizes the horror of what the animatronics themselves go through, with willian staying around the children's spirits and laughing like a psycho and foxy's stare in the hallway makes me feel like either the spirit and/or the character of foxy is horrified what by the murders that happened around them.
@commandant9310
@commandant9310 Жыл бұрын
in the FNaF 2 minigames, foxy is the one who checks on the children, he eventually dfinds them dead and the animatronic (not possesed at the time) doesn't sense anything in the room, but it knows something is off which is why it just stands there

One thing I find cool is that in the first tape with Freddy like “whatchu doing?” That isn’t him trying to be scary, it’s the kid inside him just being scared and curious, same with foxy, he was there because he was curious and scared, a really great perspective of how these things aren’t really evil, they’re misunderstood children that don’t know what’s happening

11:20 Foxy was probably the scariest of the animatronics in Fnaf 1. His Jumpscare was, well, jumping out at you, and unlike other animatronics who just stood in one position until you checked a different room. Foxy would run towards your location in the hallway. There was also a story in one of the books where a teenager looked at Foxy who said "Lose an eye, lose an arm." Which caused that person to get into several accidents that could either injure his eye or arm.

I strongly recommend reacting to the FNAF tapes labeled "Memories" and "Finale" in that order by Squimpus Mcgrimpus it delves deep into Springtrap's personality and backstory and seeing as how the tapes you reacted to in this video are remakes of Squimpus' it should line up with the story pretty well (I don't think Battington is going to remake those as he's working on his own project called "Harmony & Horror")

@@YungScuffed The guy who made the Walten Files didn’t tweet or post anything for a while, so battington made a joke about how he died and he will be missed but that confused fans of the Walten Files into believing he was actually dead. Accusations were made, and Squimpus said he didn’t want battington to remake his videos anymore. Thus, his latest Fnaf vhs videos were entirely battington’s own creations, the Springtrap one and the toy Bonnie one. I would have loved to see Memories and Finale in battington’s own twisted version but I’m happy that he can be original with his videos now, instead of having to stick to the story Squimpus made

I really do like the FNAF VHS tapes, even with me being not so keen on horror. One of the things I like about these is the emphasis on both Psychological and Physical Horror; The Psychological effects that the children had to go through, especially being victims to a unfeeling villain like Afton, how it effects the videos, and how much you have to realize and/or watch much of the horror unfold little by little, and the physical horror, as we've only seen glimpses of the deaths the children have, but this time around we faintly see how much it affects the animatronics as a whole

From what I've read in the original video and other horror game YTubers, the reason why Freddy asks "why're you hiding" and foxy crawling down and looking at you is because of the childlike mental maturity inherited from the souls of the dead children

I think that, what fascinates me about the FNaF VHS tapes is the very fact that they're on VHS, or in an analogue format as this subgenre is apparently known. If you're as old as I am or older, you know just how much those old tapes could decay, especially if they were constantly played (as one would expect from company training materials). When this happens, and it's combined with the psychological horror that is inherent to Five Nights at Freddy's, the decaying effect amplifies the horror element even further beyond - especially when the videos are put together in such a way that they mimic real life (the Uncanny Valley, if memory serves). Now, for me, I was never spooked by the likes of Chuck E. Cheese and his friends, or by the Disney rides of old (although, if I were to see them now, given how supposedly Disney isn't even putting money into repairing a lot of their older rides, I might actually be creeped out), but Five Nights as a whole, and these tapes especially, have given me a level of empathy towards people who dislike animatronics...

You know, these would have been perfect for october. The thing chica is holding is supposed to be like a cupcake or something idk Not sure if anyone mentioned it before, but in the books I think ye old purple guy who was killin kids had been in a suit when it failed, but was able to get out, leaving his body scarred. It was a sign some kids took that he wasn't to be trusted or something. All we see of the springlocks failing are the 8-bit cutscenes from the games so we don't really know how you know, gore heavy it is other than things clamping down on the body. I only heard about that since people were debating if you would be able to scream when the springlocks fail. I assumed that only parts would go off at a time, like the leg only if you moved the leg wrong while the rest is how it is. Everyone else seemed to think that ALL the springlocks would fail at once, even if the arm is the only thing that fails initially. Now it was the one that Aften died in so it's possible all failed at once since it was left in the rain of a falling apart building, but still. If all failed at once Aften in the books wouldn't be able to get out, or anyone for that matter. But in the games he was essentially as you saw, got killed in a suit and his corpse is just rotting away on the inside. During the main menu of the game springtrap first shows up in, there' a chance one of the images is of springtrap taking off the head, revealing the rotting head of aften. So yeah, extra dark when you go into it more. The books are more just outright unsettling (not to say the games aren't but that's hidden beneath jumpscares) and honestly weird.

Good video, I recommend you react to Harmony & Horror series too. FNAF VHS Tapes remake and H&H was created by the same person, Battington! Also, Its easier understand the history of H&H beacuse its a Battington's original idea, full Analog horror series.

My favourite Fnaf tape is 'Memories' by Squimpus Mcgrimpus. It's a bit different to most other fnaf tapes in my opinion.

Oh I was so so wrong.lets just say after watching those matpat videos I never saw the game the same way. Animatronic fear for years till I got older 😭🤣😭

So this whole animation was actually inspired and remade from another KZbinr names squimpismcgrimpus I think, He made all of this but a more realistic version whereas battington just made it terrifying but cool

Gotta give credit to Battington for making these tapes, kind of wish the Pirate cove pre show wasn’t censored.

Squimpus Mcgrimpus's series is more connected to the original games, but battington's has a different feel to it.

For future warnings, if you ever continue to watch other animations I really recommend the Mandela catalog or other fnaf vhs tapes. BTW if you didn't know a live action fnaf movie is coming out in October in theaters and on peacock the same day. With Mathew ledeard as purple guy, I'm not kidding
