الصفوف: نسميها "كعكة الصفوف" في المنزل. وصفة الأسرة القائمة على الدقيق. اسفنجي ، عصير و لذيذ. سهل الفعل

Sfouf is a Lebanese almond-semolina cake consumed on birthdays, family reunions, and religious holidays. It is made from semolina flour flavored with turmeric, sugar, eggs, baking powder, sesame paste, aniseed, and pine nuts. This is a simple and tasty dessert to bake, as all ingredients can be combined and mixed into the same bowl before transferring it to a greased pan and baked.

Sfouf is an arabic word that means lines and it’s used here to describe the way this cake is cut into lines. The cake itself is a flour-turmeric oil-based yellow cake. It’s a simple plain cake with mild flavors and not at all sweet - the perfect light dessert or snack to go with your cup of coffee!

Sfouf:
- 1 cup Oil
- 3 cups Flour
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Curcuma
- 2 tbsp Orange Blossom Water
- Pine Nuts

Hi Anthony, I’m a Australian Lebanese and love your shows. I love the parts of Lebanon that I have never seen. It astounds me, how beautiful it is. Thank you for the work you put in, though sometimes I do get jealous of all the wonderful food you get to eat.

صفصوف محل في بيروت منطقه الجامعه العربيه آخر مره أكلت عنده كانت في سنة 1990 أطيب صفوف أكلتها في حياتي كلا. ما بعرف إذا لسه موجود. الله يرحم هيديك الأيام 😊

all the recipes are made with Samolina (seemed al naghem I believe is Ferkha ) or Anise, I am surprised. Sure will try it. Thank you !!

Anthony & Nell, I tried this recipe, it was great, very delicious and easy but i think 40 minutes is too much, or my oven is different from yours, 30 to 35 minutes is enough..... thanks

I'll be making this for sure. I had to figure out what kirkameh, I mean Curcuma is first. What is that in Arabic please? Also a side question: What is that screen like thingy above your range/oven? Keep it going with your lovely wife.Don't hog the screen Anthony! Ok, forget it. I scrolled down and found out it is Tumeric. Still want to know what that thing is. Thanks!

معليش سؤال ليش ما بتحطوا بدل الزيت العادي زيت زيتون عشان انه صحي اكتر ؟ هل بختلف الطعم ؟ براي زيت الزيتون شو ما يكون طعمه احسن من الزيت العادي انا ما بعرف بسال بس هل جربتوا وطلع مش منيح ؟

الزيت الأصلي طعمه قوي فمش محبب للحلويات الحلو بدو زيت خفيف حتى ماتظهر طعمة الزيت كتير اذا حطيت زيت زيتون بتحس اكلة الحلو طبخة ساعتها بطعمة الزيتون 🙂

العقدة الصفرة هي الكركم بس هون بلبنان منقلا عقدة صفرا ومكون اساسي بحلويات الصفوف والمفتئة

Hey Anthony. My mothers recipe is better than this. Sorry. She uses plain yogurt, and the milk is heated and covered with anise for about 30 minutes. And when she removes it from the oven, she spray it with some rose water on top to make the top wet.
