I’m not a huge JJ Redick fan and didn’t like his attitude towards Kendrick Perkins however y’all are all dropping the ball. Nepotism happens everyday in cooperate American especially amongst our white counterparts. The one time a powerful black athlete uses his power to get the guy he wants coaching him, everyone is in outrage. My only pushback is that JJ Redick has been a player on various teams and I’m sure he was a sponge for knowledgeable and student of the game. He was a player of the year in college , A high draft pick, one of the best shooters of Alltime so I think he’s more qualifying then any “coach” who hasn’t played the game. A player knows the game way better then any person who hasn’t played at a high level.

To be fair, not many people would say the lakers job is desirable. I’ve listened for months on how the lakers are in a bad spot in general due to an aging lebron, inconsistent AD and poor supporting cast. People say that coaching the lakers and lebron would be a nightmare. Why do people care if the lakers and lebron dig their own graves? This show just said that mark Jackson was an integral part of golden state becoming successful with 29 wins. Why can’t JJ do the same? Let’s stay consistent.

JJ had a 17 year career as a player and had 8 head coaches in the NBA and maybe the greatest Coach of all time in College, I have a feeling he’s gleamed enough information to run a practice and he’s smart enough to manage a game and the IQ and EQ to succeed. I think these guys will end up eating their words.

Ask yourself this why come coach k the greatest coach of all time in college did not endorse jj to become a coach to the lakers front office first instead he endorsed Dan Hurley. When the lakers reached out to coach k for advice he told the lakers to go get Dan Hurley not jj!! Make that make since!!! So your statement is invalid
@KemperFi13
@KemperFi13 3 ай бұрын
@@mkingadiffernce Cite your resource, por favor. I haven’t seen this anywhere. Keep in mind, an endorsement for Hurley isn’t necessarily a non-endorsement for Reddick. That’s like saying choose between Luka or Giannis. If you pick one over the other, doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t gladly accepting option B. But please Cite your resource, news article, podcast, radio show, interview where Coach K told the Lakers NOT to get JJ. I don’t think it happened but I’ll await your response.

Yeah, they are trippin. It's not like he wasn't a 15-year NBA veteran. It's actually becoming pretty common for former players to coach without much coaching experience, including Doc Rivers and Steve Kerr. I'm not saying it's going to work, but it's not unprecedented.

It’s their organization and they can do whatever they wanna do. If it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t work out. Won’t be the first head coach that hasn’t worked out for a major team.
