Dalton Schultz re-signed with the Houston Texans to a three-year, $36 million extension and compared his Dallas Cowboys days with his ongoing H-town ones. He said quote: '“(Dallas is) literally a zoo, dude. There’s people tapping on the glass trying to get people’s attention while they’re doing power cleans or whatever. It’s different.' Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, LeSean McCoy and James Jones react to Schultz's comments.

I’m starting to get tired of all this talk. When Al Davis you used too talk about his raiders you never heard people say the raiders don’t win games because of Al. The cowboys (the football team) have no identity on offense or defense, are not disciplined, and have a quarterback who can’t perform in the playoffs, even with all the weapons he has. Lebron by himself had a light on him his whole career, and he still performed, no matter the noise coming from outside. The players have to get a backbone and play, and ignore the noise. At the end of the day you guys play football, not a media game do play

As a Broncos fan with no sarcasm intended the Cowboys are the biggest winners. No team gets the airplay that the cowboys get without progressing in the playoffs. They always dominate topics on these shows due to their fans providing the most lucrative market. Winning doesn’t interfere with that because if winning did Jerry wouldn’t have got rid of Jimmy and then you play some game making him wait quarter of a century before putting him in your ring of honour. Generating more headlines😂. Man’s a genius.

I became a Cowboy fan at age 6 (1970!), and a Longhorn fan when the Tyler Rose exploded on the scene. So I can vouch for what Acho is saying. It wasn’t “Clint’s (Murchison) World.” It wasn’t even Tex’s (Schramm) world. It was about THE coach, Tom Landry, and the business HE ran, which was football, period. All my time growing up, the playoffs were automatic. (My world shook when they missed in ’74!) In Landry’s business, great coaches were hired, great talent was found. (They used to put them Cowboys down for their use of computers. 😂) Countless innovation’s…most still being used, from the flex defense to the ring of honor, Tom and Tex made Dallas. But it was always about football, which is why NO ONE told Landry what to do. It was HIS team, the way Clint Murchison wanted it. The success Jimmy Johnson brought to Dallas was, to a large degree, on the coat tails of Tom Landry. Tex Shramm stayed around long enough to show Jerry far more than Jerry will ever give credit for. Jimmy learned as much from Landry’s remaining players as he taught them. It took three years before J&J started getting it, but when they finally put it together, they had a brief dynasty. But once Jerry’s pride, and his refusal to acknowledge who buttered his bread, the Cowboys became cursed…not in a Red Sox, mystical kind of way, but in a redefining of “business” and refocusing of priorities kind of way. The elite Jerry Jones is hugely successful, for himself. In that way, I guess in that way, they do seem like America’s team.

Were not Americas team because of what happen in the 90s. There were only three teams that were on television in the 70’s. The Cowboys was one of them and also we had a Quarterback that went to Vietnam and came back and played. After Bradshaw did that and winning two super bowls during that era, The cowboys started to get Notoriety. Then Jerry came in the 80s and boosted the Cowboys up another level, Cementing us as Americas team by winning three more Super bowls.

The same thing is seen in golf. Before you win you are just a golfer. And depending on which tournaments you win, you can become a celebrity over night. Tom Kim talks about it in full swing season 2. The extra “stuff” takes away from the time and your ability to focus on your sport/job. Especially when you have a brand like the cowboys. They feel the pressure to do the non football stuff to keep the brand value high. Winning is most definitely secondary to profit for them. Gotta keep the lights on.

Shultz basically repeated what Micheal Strahan said during the post game commentary when Dallas lost to the Packers in the playoffs. Strahan basically said the Cowboys’ culture is toxic and they appear to value publicity/marketing over winning. Strahan showed live footage of Jerry Jones being surrounded by reporters after that loss and said,”That’s why the Cowboys will continue to lose.” He pretty much made the same point about Jerry being the only owner that seeks attention as evidenced by the media circus after games.😅

Joy touched on what's at the core of this whole thing. Dallas is the most marketed, most marketable, and most in the spotlight out of all other teams. The problem with that is mass media, and I'm definitely including Joy right in the middle of being responsible for it as well as all other media folks, are afraid to just admit that the cowboys aren't good enough. And more importantly are too afraid to quit talking about them as if they are good enough until they actually are good enough. They don't hesitate in pointing out the Giants or Washington not being good football teams. And if any other team beats those two, they "of course, they played the Giants/Washington..." and that's it. Nothing else is made of it and they move on. But if Dallas beats those two teams, then they force that into being a prelude to why Dallas is going to the super bowl. This isn't a small town high school where a coach is convinced that wearing shoes that are too fancy is the reason why a team loses.

Sometimes there’s a little bit of a trade-off between ensuring relevancy and actually competing. And they are too valuable to rebuild and not sell a mediocre quarterback as top-tier.

What Schultz is saying makes some sense. I live like 10 min away from NRG stadium and they ain’t having tours of the stadium and practice facilities lol. The most they have is the public training camp practices. Thats about it.

You never seen fans at a regular season practice. He built that practice facility to be a shopping center and host highschool football game on Fridays so it’s like a zoo if your guys are trying to practice and you have all these distractions going during the week.

I always had a feeling that Jerry created a circus with that facility. The Dallas Cowboys franchise is nothing more than a tourist attraction. That distraction are everywhere at that complex.

He wasn't even being disrespectful. Truth is the truth always seems kinda disrespectful in feelings but logically its the right thing.

Schultz kept it real it’s their culture there. It’s not winning culture. They have a competitive culture.

Cowboys players should vote on a Poll. Are the Helicopter, Chandelier, Super Bowl Trophies, Glass Window for Tourist a Distraction and do you Feel Pressure?

The first time I agree with Shady. When you’re the most valuable franchise in America what do you do with the profits?? You invest it back in your team and that the only way to do it

The something is IT'S FOOTBALL, Dallas had their moments in the 80s and 90s, the chiefs are having their moments now. This stuff happens. The Eagles (who are an older franchise than the Cowboys) won their first Superbowl not too long ago. This notion of "when are they going to win a Superbowl" is literally a thing for many other teams. It's football guys, let it go.

Want Happens in their culture, is that they get too relaxed. it's almost like their city doesn't hold them accountable.

They were described as "America's Team" before Jerry. I don't think so, but others say they are, and have been since the 70s I believe

I more want to see what happens when Stephen Jones runs the team. Yes, you’re more prepped for the media spectacle every week, but you don’t see as much of Kansas City doing that (outside of Kelce, Mahomes and Coach Reid) and that’s with them making the Super Bowl or AFC Championship as long as they have.
