I've thought alot about this and I think I may prefer Brawl over Melee. Melee is truly a fantastic game of legend, but I just feel that Brawl has more life.

What I hope SGB do for Project M is that one of them (most likely John or Matt) takes the time to learn some of the advanced techniques (not all of them) that exists in Melee and PM and not in Brawl, as most casuals (as in not competitive players) seeing PM just see it as useless effort because they don't see the differences unless someone points them out.

I think this video is a good demonstration as to why I like Brawl a little better than Melee. There's a certain randomness factor that works oh so well. Melee's still fun as hell though.

My personal thoughts on Super Smash Bros. Brawl is that there are a lot of good things going for it but I feel that the combat physics are fairly "meh". It's a nice game to play for casual sessions and it's more of a strategy game in terms of the actual combat, due to the slower pace...but I prefer Melee for the extremely fast paced fights that it offered, especially in tournament fighting (Melee tournament fighting is some of the most intense shit I've ever had the honor of partaking in). I hope that the next Smash Bros., in addition to delivering this amazing roster of characters thus far, provides for that fast paced combat and the idea of there being more balancing people than Sakurai is somewhat appealing as well. Anyhow, looking forward to more of these goofy battles.
