👍 I'm just getting back into stained glass after a 9 year absence so watching your technique is helping me get back the confidence I need to start my project. Thank you!

I like to run the pliers on the each end of the score line first just BARELY hearing the score open up, then go to middle, perfect every time. I took practice but it's honestly incredible.

Hey, thanks for the shout out🥰. Search how to make glue chip glass. It's interesting. It comes in single glue chip and double glue chip. Double has more texture. Clear is the most common. I remember how excited you were to get your cabinet. Happy Valentine's Day ❤

love your channel, been following for a few years now since I got interested in stained glass art. The piece is going to look great, I also think a live broadcast would be great, maybe plan certain pauses so you can check on comments and respond. Also, please consider us east coast folks for timing. And finally, I watched til the very end.👍👍

I like to see this big window glass just like that, with the wathery effect not little cuts, but it's there project. They paye for that.

To give the paper better longevity, strength especially if you want to use it again, I find covering the pattern with clear packing tape or book tape before cutting it apart helps. I store the pieces in an envelope with an extra copy of the pattern.

Thank you for the tip. I keep them in envelopes as well but taping would really help.

👍watched it all, i believe you use the silberschnitts like regular pliers by starting at one end of your score and following the run, apply gentle pressure. Starting in the middle of your score doesnt really work. Make sure the removable rubber pieces are on the correct sides. The round piece is on the bottom with the dimple and you are correct by holding the pliers with the bohle logo showing on the top. Sometimes at the factory the rubber pieces are put on the wrong sides and they dont function correctly. The rotating rectangular rubber piece is always on the top. I enjoy your channel. I learned that info on another channel. I think you always need to use the tool that works best for the job at hand and you did.

👍 I'm having the same problem with the chipping when using the Silberschnitt pliers which is disappointing. Maybe they work better for the deep curves like you were saying. 👍
@JanneGlass10 ай бұрын
My experience with the Silberschnitt, you want to A) start as close to the edge as you can with the entire top bar still touching the glass, B) apply as little pressure as possible C) don’t try to make the entire cut run at once but move the pliers to another part of the cut after you started it to make it run further. Hope this helps.

I did watch til the end, you make me laugh. I'm not very good, so I do a lot of free form stuff. I'm doing a bunch of random flowers for my yard to hang on a post. Do you do different stuff, not just patterns?

Hey man I'm about to dip my toes into stained glass. But I have a ton of experience cutting glass and making custom windows. Have any advice I may need to start or any tool that I may have overlooked?

I've watched vidios on the pliers and they say it takes VERY LITTLE PRESSURE 😊
