Nice project! Try etch larger pieces using liquid etching solution, work great even with some colored glass

I'll definitely consider trying it on larger pieces next time. It would certainly be a very interesting attempt!😊

I wish I had your cutting skills

My cutting skills still have a lot of room for improvement. If you want to practice cutting, I recommend starting with the most basic clear glass. It’s all about getting better with experience. 😊

Amazing work ! I am truly overwhelmed by the amount of steps ! How many hours did it take ? The gold leaf process looks soooo long. I guess they don't make golden patina ?

Honestly, I’m not sure exactly how many hours it took 😅, as I worked on it in my spare time. However, it definitely took at least 25 hours. Since I'm still gaining experience, I spent more time on each step. Plus, being a perfectionist, I couldn’t resist making sure everything was just right, which took even more time. 🤣 For this project, I used lead-free solder. Although I have copper patina, I've heard it doesn't work well on lead-free solder. I tested this on a small piece, and the result wasn't ideal. That's why I decided to use gold leaf. In hindsight, silver might have been a better choice. The gold leaf is very eye-catching and seems to overshadow the orange glass. P.S. I really wish there was gold patina, I have a special fondness for gold. 🤣

What do you use to cut the patterns? Do you get them pre cut?
@NSGWhimsy4 ай бұрын
I simply print the patterns from my computer and cut them out with scissors. Then, I use a glass marker pen to trace the lines onto the glass. It takes a bit of time, but it's the easiest method.
