Thank you, SGF, for another wonderful year streaming video games of highly variable fame, technical quality, and aesthetic merit. This year's stream was so packed, I forgot how many memetic games happened this very year: - Overblood (thank you, Pipo) - Firefighter F.D. 18 - Home Safety Hotline (long live our hero, the Junior Supervisor) - The skeleton from Orpheo's Curse - AitD 2024 (they finally made an OK one!...and then torpedoed the studio who made it) - Double helping of Code Veronica (Steve must continue to suffer) - The motherfuckin' Council - Cluefinders - Indika (but we got so many points!) - Seven Mansions (goony Schnider laugh) - Crow Country (how many Special Agents has SGF played as now?) - Shatmemz (CHERYL?) - RE: Dead Aim (Morpheus D. Duvall did nothing wrong) - Arctic Eggs (delicious tin-fried sardines with cigarettes and egg) ...and yes, unfortunately, Saw II: Flesh and Blood.

I may try 1000xResist. I knew about that game but I don't have too much tolerance for walking simulators. At most I play one of those per year. On the other hand, I really respect sgf taste on games. Nine Sols is definitely my #1 of the year. That game is so good. The final boss is such a mountain of difficulty to climb, that I came out the other side with new skills I didn't even know I had. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is also the best pure puzzle game I've ever played. Sooo satisfying. The ending puzzle is a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the game, but it doesn't ruin the experience. Tunic is still my favorite game, but I think Nine Sols and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes are my favorite action game and puzzle game, while Tunic just combines the two well enough to be better.

27:55 Going off of his Mobygames page, it seems like Kenneth Young's main non-Astro Bot claim to fame is music for the LittleBigPlanet series, particularly the first two. It's also worth noting that Astro Bot has a few songs by other composers who used to work at Japan Studio, like Kemmei Adachi (Locoroco, Patapon) and a couple others I can't remember off the top of my head. ...sorry, when people start talking about game composers it sets off a switch in my brain

Why didn’t you play Lorelei and the Laser Eyes on the channel? I got so excited when it came up on your list cause I would have loved to hear your reactions and thought processes on the game and puzzles. I’m currently about halfway through it but have hit a bit of a psychological wall now that there is an actual threat that can chase the player character, which is a mechanic that stresses me out so much that I’m having trouble concentrating on solving the puzzles! I can see why you might not record your play through; it IS a lot of reading and caters to a very specific audience, but damn, now that I know you have played it, I’m mourning the “bumbling through” play through that never was 😢

All of them are quite deserved, especially №7! Surprised about №3, confused about №9, perplexed about №2 (I still like the original version more for some odd reason), and had no idea of №1! My personal top this year: - *Zachtronics Solitaire Collection.* All year, every year, this remains a mainstay of mine. Such a wonderful way to reboot during commute. - *Barony.* A surprisingly fun shooter roguelike! Haven't upgraded my PC to the specs of *Roboquest* yet so that might change, but Barony just drips style. Probably the closest thing to realtime Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup I've seen so far. - *Regicide (the board game).* A cool deck of tabletop characters and a nice, scalable game to go with it! One of my favorite discoveries. - *Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers.* A stellar kart game, cheap-as-free, features an amazing boost mechanic, practically every setting can be adjusted to your liking. - *Heroes of Might and Magic III: Horn of the Abyss.* A new faction, a new campaign (incredibly big and expansive!), and I discovered LuckTest this year too -- probably my most favorite way to get my weekly dose of HoMM until I get more free time. Cheers to all of you reading this, and a Happy New Year!

Gonna comment my own before watching the rest of this video, but I always enjoy hearing your takes when compared to what is generally more mainstream. In fact, I believe in your video for last year, one of the games you mentioned was Void Stranger, and it turns out it's at the top of my list for games I enjoyed most this year. Initially I thought it would be more akin to the Oracle Zelda games with the retro aesthetic, and I had my frustrations with it at first in it being more of a specific puzzle genre I've never heard of because I live under a rock, but the further I went in, the more it was all worth it in the end. Reminded me a lot of how much I enjoyed Tunic the year before. Another Code Recollection was not far behind, despite preferring my remakes/remasters to be as faithful as possible (Shadow of the Colossus, Metroid Prime Remastered, Pokemon HG/SS are my gold standard usually) I mostly enjoyed it even with it's low budget and other issues, probably because I don't have near as much fond memories of the second game. Even so, it's problems were enough to make me feel Void Stranger was all around better. For the rest of my list, I think outside the Pokemon S/V epilogue which is really not its own game, I made a point to try and clear out a lot of my older games than to spend money on any new ones, so I can't really judge. There are a fair few I think I'm kind of glad to have saved for later, being stuff like Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Space Marine 2, Black Myth Wukong, Yakuza 8(still haven't finished 7 as it is), besides waiting on ports of games like Stellar Blade. Not going to go over each in detail, but going in order, the rest of my list of games I either enjoyed or finished for the first time are Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus as well as Burst Re:Newal, MegaMan Battle Network 3 Blue, Metroid Zero Mission, P.N.03, Robot Alchemic Drive, Deluge, and lastly the aforementioned Pokemon epilogue just because I loved what little there was there even if I wanted more. In the past few weeks I've been finishing up the Gal*Gun games though and it's been tough to decide whether I'd change any of them out, but they just don't have that same emotional weight I invested into any of these characters. Feel like I really ought to just keep knocking these out while I'm on a roll like this to be honest, because whenever I stop it's difficult to get right back to it, with games like Dusk diver 2, Neon White, Evil West I just dropped while in the middle of. At the very least I never seem to lose any muscle memory so when I do go back to them it's like I never put them down to begin with. But I guess we'll see. Playing through more of the Senran Kagura games, decided to get some of the Neptunia ones for xmas before I try and restart the crossover game in hopes I might understand what's going on in it a bit more.

I think in elusively the Triple-A Sector, this year was weaker than 2023, but, If you're not someone who's algorithmically designed to contribute to twitter trends, this year was great for games. It was also a great year to be a SuperGreatFriend Viewer. Honestly, I think Alone in the Dark (2024) was my favorite LP of the year. Damn shame that the studio got put down. I love you SGF. Happy New Year! I did fall asleep many times on some of your videos late at night during 2024 (maybe you should consider doing ASMR on an additional channel, dunno... Barely joking, but still joking x)), quite a busy year. Many thanks for your playthroughs, especially those for Echostasis (what a game...), Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (didn't expect you would do it! Hope you'll do Downpour too to complete the circle of the Halo of the Sun [Book of Memories doesn't exist]... Quite a bad game for a lot of reasons IMAO, but not lacking good ideas, though), Mouthwashing (such a surprise) and, most of all, Slitterhead (my new favorite video game soundtrack... I've been waiting since 2012/Shadows of the Damned that Yamaoka composes such kind of VGS! What a shame Bokeh Games didn't have the means to achieve its ambitions... Hope the best for its next game). And I utterly agree with you about Hollowbody: even if the game is really not that good, it's quite impressive for the work of a single person... I'm really curious to see what they'll do in the future. Didn't forget your playthrough of SH2 remake, but I'll watch it once I have the time to give it a try. But quite scared to... All the best for you! Still grateful to the friend who recommended me your channel many years ago...
