Our recipe is for high fire although it has worked for me at cone 5.

I like the Mishima technique and I've done this but after scraping the slip off if you wanted to glaze it with a colored glaze, how would you do that? I tried putting on wax and then glazing but I always end up with a white spot from my clay body where I didn't get it covered good. Or would you put wax on and scrape that off and then apply the glaze? I would also love to have your slip recipe. Do you use Mason Stains in your colored slip recipe? I'm sorry that it's taken so long to get back to you. I have been on vacation. I would try using latex (not wax). You might also try a translucent glaze like a Celadon and skip the waxing altogether. Our slips are colored with mason stains. The base is equal parts EPK, Ball Clay, Silica & Nephsy mixed by volume.

Thanks for answering me back. Do you have an exact recipe you can share for the colored slips? I bought some Mason Stains but I have no clue how to really mix it. I had thought you could just mix it in with your slip. Would that not work? Thank you for your help :)

Yes. Simply mix the mason stains in. Start with a small amount and add and test until you get your desired results. I am out of town, but when I return I'll provide examples with a couple of the stains we use.
