I miss tripletail fishin'. I used to follow the trap lines off the beaches in Sarasota FL. We used a split shot and no cork, sometimes they're too deep for a bobber. We also caught them under bouys in the bay, and a few off channel marker poles. Lots of times we followed trap lines up to an artificial reef to fish for cobia, then in the way back we'd run different trap lines. Sometimes we could run between 2 different trap lines and check both if they were close enough. Few fish taste better. One of my favorites. Too bad Florida turned into a place with insane leaders so I won't move back.

Jet skis are illegal on our Mississippi barrier islands. Nothing used to tick me off more than while wade fishing and here comes jet skis! If you ain’t hooking buoy lines you ain’t triple tail fishing. Just a little secret fish a longer leader like 6ft and slip cork setup and fish every buoy, they aren’t always sitting on top. I catch a lot of triple tail every year and 90% of them are sitting down deep out of sight.

Congrats. I ran across some seado fishing videos about a month ago and it peaked my interest. Then I see you with one and now I’m really peaked. My only concern is shallow fishing but I think adding a trolling motor might solve this. Do you plan to add a trolling motor? Do you know if there’s a seedo group fishing this area? Please keep us updated on the pro and concern of these fishing machines.

Awesome catch. My favorite triple tail recipe is baked whole, skin on. Coarse salt, cracked black pepper on both sides of the scored skin. Add a slice of fresh garlic and a pat of butter under a lemon slice and cover the fish with the lemon slices. It is awesome. Greta video as always Nate. I remember reading an article in an old magazine about people catching them using 18’ - 20’ long cane poles and just thought that would be so fun! I’ll still watch from time to time. Keep having fun. Wish I had the time to fish that much. I grew up in south MS would go down to ocean springs bridge in Feb and March and catch big black drum. Biggest was 63 pounds.
