Excellent video of the central Cuillin, these were the first 2 munros I climbed on the ridge 20 years ago, no music just you and the mountain...fantastic.

Hi Tony. Thanks for watching. Sgurr a' Ghreadaidh is a fantastic viewpoint, being right in the middle of the ridge. A great day out.

Another good video of munro's I will probably never, climb unless I hire a guide. The scrambling is too difficult for me. It is good to see what I am missing lol.

Hi, thanks. These are such beautiful mountains. The scrambling isn't as hard as it looks, just some of the exposure in the Cuillins can be overwhelming if not used to it. A guide is always a great idea if at all unsure of the routes, and they can deal with any rope stuff that may be required.

Not providing commentary and just letting the rock and views speak for themselves was a fresh and rewarding approach for me.👍👍

Hi Andy, cracking vid of the 2 Munro’s, looks like you got a brilliant day for it. Especially love the views down to Loch Coruisk & Sgurr Na Stri. ATB Frank

Hi Frank. It was a great day, grabbed a wee gap in the otherwise wet and cloudy weather last week on Skye. The views in the Cuillin are hard to beat. Cheers, Andy.

Hi Andy, for years I’ve harboured the ambition to get on to the ridge proper but the nearest I’ve gotten is Sgurr na Stri. I’d planned to walk up to the highest point on the Druim nan Ramh knowing Bidean of the same name might be too difficult from what I’ve seen from a detailed post at Walk-Highlands. Four years ago I was scuppered by an impassable spate outflow from Coruisk scoping things out. So I wondered what the alternative might be. Lo and behold, your excellent vlog makes me think I could manage Sgurr a' Mhadaidh. A 70th birthday treat for me. If I don’t do it, I’ve got the next best thing now in the form of superb hi-def video that is almost as good as being there. Would you kindly let me know if my assumption that the ascent from An Dorus is about 100 m of scrambling but that is not scree? Cheers!
@andy-astro2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, thanks for watching. You can avoid most scree on the scramble from An Dorus to the summit, but there is a lot of scree on the approach to An Dorus which you can see at 1:50. A couple of other alternatives to get onto the ridge I would suggest are Sgùrr na Banachdich and Bruach na Frithe, which I did first as they are a bit easier. Cheers, Andy.

Great walk, will this area be covered with snow in winter?
@andy-astro3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sevy. Yeah, it'll be totally covered. Shouldn't be long now before the snows hit, looking forward to it. Cheers, Andy.

What an amazing rugged gnarled hill Andy! You know I will need to watch all these again! Are you using a head or a chest mount? Paul
@andy-astro3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. I use a chest mount whenever I need to use my hands. I find it keeps the video smoother than a helmet-cam, and focused on my direction of travel better, as I'm constantly looking left and right. I can angle it up and down on the mount depending on the gradient. And if I want to point it around in different directions I can just pull the mounting pad forward a bit off my chest on the elastic straps to point it around, or take photos. It's much easier to work with too as you can just angle it at the ground to use the touchscreen on the back of the camera. Cheers, Andy.
