This entire new addition to the chicken run is fabulous and delightful.

I've been making ladders for my chickens and have been cutting expensive planks and squared wood, but I would never have got the idea of just taking natural sticks for the ladder, which sounds more logic. Thx for the idea and I love their obstacle course. Truly worthy for a bird descended from jungle animals!

I swear, those chickens are treated better than *some* people treat their children. If I were a chicken, I'd want to come and live at your house! LOL 👍😊

I love your shoots and ladders for your chickens. I appreciate your love and kindness towards them and you how to take care of them. The chickens really enjoy the shoots and ladders and it is fun to watch them have a good time! Great video!

Your entire backyard is so relaxing! I gotta give my chickens some entertainment. They have a swing. They just started swinging yesterday. Lol.

I am glad to see the chickens using the rope wrapped perches. I just ordered some to use in my toolshed to coop conversion. This also gives me ideas for the run once it's built.

You have provided your hens with a palace. We’ll done, especially if you created it cheep. So much to do and little rewards along the pathways. I will incorporate some of your designs in my chicken run. Great Job Chicken Dad.

Your video just popped up and I was immediately attracted to your cool looking chicken house! I love these ideas, I'm going to build something cool for my chickens, esp as we get closer to winter, they'll need some place to hide if they're cold and play without being exposed to the outside where hawks/predators can get them. Love the use of the twigs/sticks for "steps"...

Nice ideas. , in my run I found that the ramps caught the droppings, so I used long sticks on the sides to make latter's. Much cleaner dear😊. Agape love ❤️ 😊

I like how you made the chicken ladders with sticks/branches so round and they can grip well.

Awesome and inspiring!!! Are your post secured with cement? Hopefully you didn't mention it but I have to rewatch this anyways lol. Also what type of shrubs do you have that are surviving the chickens? If serenity was a video...🥰
@TwinCitiesAdventures10 ай бұрын
Yes they are because we have heavy snowfall in Minnesota so I had to secure that with cement into the ground. We’ve tried growing different plants in there and they eat them so we just swap them out every once in a while and sometimes I put chicken wire around them so they can’t fully eat them. You should check out the other video where we built a three season porch off the backside of the chicken run for more details :-) thanks for watching.

@TwinCitiesAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right, they do love it when we talk to them because they always have some fun kind of replies for us. The chickens lay A total of four eggs a day. Thanks so much for watching.

Did you have trouble with the chickens not wanting to go into the coop to roost at night? I want to add vertical space in my run but I'm afraid they will try to roost there instead of their coop
@TwinCitiesAdventures10 ай бұрын
Absolutely, every once in a while, they’ll sleep in the hot house, but they often and most of the time sleep outside. I wrapped the chicken run in plastic in the winter to keep the wind chill down. You can see all of those videos in our playlist called Minnesota chickens. Thanks for watching. :-)

This is such a cool set up! I would be concerned about the chickens trying to peck the string lights though…? Have you had any problems with that?

No, they can’t reach them.

Those are the happiest "little girls"..🐥🐥🐥....you are such a great Chicken Parent🐤🐣.....I love the names you gave them....Question::how often do you change the material on the floor....do you ever sweep it all out....it seems that would be a big job....also how big is your structure....can't really tell from the video.....I'm asking because I have long wanted a few chickens but I want to make sure they'll be happy, heslthy and clean so I'm trying to learn all I can.....thanks😁
@TwinCitiesAdventures4 жыл бұрын
We just got the chickens the spring so we have not changed the flooring in the chicken run yet. The technique that we went with was mulch and pine shavings on top of dirt/earth. So far what happens is that it turns into natural compost and blends into the earth so we haven’t had to clean it out yet.
