R5 firmware要update 至V1.1.1（9/9/20），其中一個改善係 ： Fixes a phenomenon in which the IS capabilities may be degraded when performing continuous shooting in cases where the RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens is attached to the EOS R5 running firmware version 1.1.0. 我在片內都有提出100-500的IS 似乎唔係咁夾部R5，firmware update後應該會有改善。

你好，以今次的拍攝，EF100-400mm比較RF100-500mm銳利，但正如我在片中所講，我懷疑是RF100-500mm鏡頭IS夾R5機身IBIS的問題，剛好昨天（9/9) R5有新Firmware update，正正是改善這個問題，稍後有機會會再試一試。

您好，因為感光元件只有中間部份（水平40%，垂直60%）可以對應F11，所以只可以用中間四方的位置才可以對焦。

The EF100-400mm seems a bit sharper than the new RF100-500mm, it may caused by the firmware of R5. A new version of firmware was announced yesterday and it will improve the IS. Let's see how it goes. V1.1.1 - Fixes a phenomenon in which the IS capabilities may be degraded when performing continuous shooting in cases where the RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens is attached to the EOS R5 running firmware version 1.1.0.

Alex, I heard Canon will be bringing out all the RF mount telephoto primes in 2021. Amongst them, it will include the RF 400mm f/2.8, RF 500mm f/4, RF 600mm f/4, RF 800mm f/5.6 and wait for it, a RF 1200mm f/8 (note: this is not going to be a cheap lens like the f/11 primes, this will be a L lens)!! Looks like Canon is going for broke just in time for the delayed Tokyo Olympics next year. Don't forget, they will be announcing the R1 in Q1 too. I think I might have to rob a bank. LOL. Do you think you will be testing the 1200mm f/8 when the time comes? Should be interesting. LOL.

I’m interested on the RF400/2.8 and RF600/4. RF800mm is good for small birds shooting but the aperture seems a bit small for this type of “big whit lens”, RF600 + RF1.4x would be more flexible. I’ve no idea the application of the new coming RF1200/8.

@@alexfungsir You were at 840mm shooting the Black Kites in Sai Kung right? May be you were a little short, could have used another 300mm perhaps? Here is the thing, you already have the EF 400mm f/2.8 and EF 600mm f/4, do you think is worth getting the RF version? Even if you sell your EF versions, you will still have to pay a fair bit on top. Why not use that money and buy something that you don't have, like a RF 800mm f/5.6 for example and you can still add on a 1.4x TC? Anyway, should be interesting when all these lenses hit the market.
