A healthy Elaine is the complete package; Amazing starts out the blocks and an incredible finisher. Shelly Ann had to run her best time ever to beat a healthy Elaine. If she stays healthy, my money is on Elaine to take that 100m gold. Shericka and Shelly Ann are my second take. Shericka's grown so much this season and not just in the 200m. She has the power and drive to take gold. She won the Diamond League final with a time of 10.7sec after having stumbled out the blocks, even starting behind Sha'carri Richardson whose infamous starts are some of the worst ever. Shericka's only shortcoming is that she isn't a strong finisher, a fit Elaine could run her down. Shelly Ann is the most consistent female sprinter and the sub 10.7sec queen. An injury free Shelly could outrun about anyone out the blocks and to run her down would require a very strong finisher, someone like a healthy Elaine. Shericka Jackson just doesn't have that finishing punch. At her best Shelly Ann can run sub 10.7 at a whim, Shericka has gone under 10.7sec once. Shelly Ann's consistency gives her an obvious edge over most female sprinters. Third toss is Sha'carri Richardson ALL because of her unpredictable starts. She has the potential to rival the best among the best but her inconsistency out the blocks and slow build up in the first 40m could pose a great problem for her if she were to meet a healthy Elaine or Shelly Ann. However, if she "accidentally" nailed her start like she did in the Budapest finals, she could pose a great threat to that Olympic gold. She's a very strong finisher. This is all hypothetical though. All in all, as with all races, the best woman will win the 100m Olympic gold. Any of them have the potential to take it.

Sha’Carri needs to get her starts more consistent before she has a chance at Olympic Gold. She almost didn’t make the finals at Worlds because of a bad start in the semis. @@mssha1980 yeah, but that’s how rounds go, you gotta ensure your spot by getting top 2 in your heat. She’s obviously fast enough, she won in the end, but that inconsistent start made her have to qualify on time, which is not guaranteed. Look at her race at the Diamond League Finals. She came in 4th because of a bad start. She started behind and never caught up. My point still stands, she needs to work on her starts.

Sha'carri might not even make the podium if she doesn't perfect her starts. Elaine is on an upward trajectory as she recovers from her injuries and also with new coaching and it is wonderful to see her on the way back to performing at her best. If all these ladies turn up fit and ready to race, the Olympics will be insane and I have no idea who will win but it is definitely going to be quick! So ShaCarrie will be more seasoned as a runner next year, which could be the icing in the cake, given her unpolished talent as a professional runner. Sherika is a force to recon with. She's determined to walk away with double gold. Elaine, is also a beast at her talent and she will pull a victory everytime she lines up in the blocks, so long as she's healthy. I don't think anyone can forget about the pocket rocket. To be 37, 38 come Paris, the way she's running at that age, her final Olympics, just might upset all of the above. To sum it up, if all these ladies are healthy, we might have a photo finish to study in this race in Paris. If I had to put my money on it, I'd pick ShaCarrie, Sherika, Shelly, then Elaine. Now that she's back with her team doctor, probably but Shericka has that same team doctor so who knows. They'll both run another decade at WL times and no one will wonder how that happens. The men can't do it. They really have a lot of trouble getting past 33. Very very rarely they do but there is one reason for that... their bodies can only handle and respond to so much exogenous hormones because they already get the gift from the Creator but females can keep using it without losing a beat until they are around 40 or just before. Elaine will probably be running 10.4s at 35 and Shericka 21 flat.

I do think a healthy Elaine will defend her title in the 100m even though I would love for SFP to win gold at her last Olympics in a new Olympic record I doubt she will be able to beat a healthy ETH. Here are my predictions for the 100m next year Jamaica sweep with shacarri having an outside shot for jabbing the bronze preventing the sweep 1) ETH 10.5 high 2) Shellyanne 3) shericka/shacarri/ While I applaud shericka and her progress her start is still inconsistent. This was super sappy play up for the Jamaicans. Let's talk about how Ta Lou and Richardson were clearly burnt out in their last 2 races and Elaine was just gettting started but Shericka sure ran a long season without ever leaving time on the table. That's almost impossible to do. Every season you start off slow because you don't want to peak to early but when someone starts sub 10s and 20s very early and is still running them after a very full season, it seems extra to say the least. Your body just can't sustain super high end performances all season unless..... Why aren't we talking about people gettint faster after 28 anymore? Let me guess? Diet, the track, spikes and juat knowledge....??? No way, as much as I don't care what these athletes do I also hate pretending like things that don't make sense make sense like ALLL season when I was saying Asinga sure looks to strong for a kid who was mid at best the year before

He made Arbor and the other top high school kids who were miles ahead of him look like they were standing still. Brody Buffington too, 10.2s out of no where. Then let's talk about the 20 plus underclassmen who ran sub 20s and sub 10s all season then disappeared like ghosts when official races were being run. Clear indicators of what's happening. No doubt in my mind but we like to pretend we don't know and it's just people being great. If 6 of the 8 Seoul 100m sprinters who smashed every record known at the time had drug incidents within that season what makes any season any different? No one talks about Coleman's 3 no shows for tests that got him a little ban. No one talks about Nesta Carter and the year 6 Jamaicans failed in season and their own national head Dr. said "just imagine what they were doing out of season." SAFP failed for opiates which they don't consider PEDs but they are for training purposes. How about Serena Williams and Biles being allowed to use speed and illegal anti-inflammatories 'therapeutically? I know, no track channel will ever broach the subject because they'll lose all their viewers but just look at pictures of the women at 21 vs when they are 28 or even freshman vs junior year. People getting adult braces for TMJ is a clear indicator their facial structure has changed more than the natural barrier. Thus they get braces to help realign their teeth to their new, wider more muscular faces.

Shelley Ann will always be my girl but I can't see her bringing the greatness for her swansong if I'm honest. Great result for closing race! If it wasn’t scripted by the athletes themselves! - then, was definitely scripted from above! The “haters” don’t understand! - never will! Top 4 women here are the top 5 100m dash women in the world (missing is S-AFP 🇯🇲, who didn’t participate)! 1)As Sha’Carri pointed out these top 4 women are the best at their game! It’s good to have this duelling at the top as each field or day may suit one or the other! 2)Sha’Carri is the most junior & youngest of these and she has to show respect at end of season and allow the pace-setters to shine! 3)If I was the coach great strategy to end in fine form but not no top - creates a sense vulnerability! So best result for S’C 4)Best result for each of the top 3. i)Jackson needed this - given how she was taken out at WC, ii) Talou - perennial silver/bronze medalist cemented her consistency even though she is always the bridesmaid at top end but hey - she is the best at playing silver-bronze and 4th! Olympics could be a last act at age 34! They all love her & respect her! iii)Herar! The Olympic champ needed this boost to get bronze on her return from injury- now she is confidently in the mix for Olympics! iv)And Morrison at 5th PB! So couldn’t have been scripted better! v)Add to that all women under 11.01! - difference of fraction is second for all that’s amazing! - in High school in the days of no fancy watches! All would’ve had same time!😂! ~11sec!
