this is a great hybrid of the Corvairs "True True Love" and the Marcels' "I'll Never Stop Loving Your". I appreciated the way they didn't always stick to the mainstream overplayed songs and despite their outfits and humor, they kept the doo wop real...

Great The Fist Song With Bowzer On Lead Is True True Love By The Corvaires
@tommyoz777
@tommyoz777 3 жыл бұрын
Wow everyone below is getting it either all wrong or half right. This is a medley of two different songs. The first one is "True True Love" - The Corvairs 1962. Look it up. Now the second song is an old standard written in the 50's. The version Sha Na Na is doing here is a doo wop version that Tommy Regan recorded and released in 1964. Look that up as well. The backup group to Tommy Regan's version is said to be The Marcels. However, there are a lot of people who are saying it was not them and that it was The Halos who also backed up Curtis Lee on Pretty Little Angel Eyes. Until I hear Tommy Regan, The Marcels or The Halos say it from their own mouths (not written somewhere), I'm not sure which one to believe.

@robertacatholic... Doris Day had an "adult contemporary" hit with "I'll Never Stop Loving You" back in 1955, but in 1964, Tommy Reagan and The Halos "Doo-Wopped" it and enjoyed significant success... obviously the version Sha Na Na is covering is Tommy Reagan's.

Killing is NEVER a solution to anything, except self-defense if someone is trying to kill you! I'm sure some of the original singers of these songs had to be jealous of Sha Na Na singing their songs better!

@@LisaKoffler Killed is an expression. It means something is outstanding which is envied ...but in a good way. I'd kill for hair like that. I'd kill for a voice like that. That meal was so good somebody just kill me, I ate too much. I just killed that test, I got a hundred on it. When I make a great dessert, hubby will say are you trying to kill me? It's a regional thing, not literal. It's a compliment.
