The show was a Sunday night tradition. As a kid I loved this show as it didn't take itself too seriously. The Halloween episode had a great rendition of The Purple People Eater.

Saw these guys live at Anaheim Stadium Sat., June 19, 1977. They opened for (in order) Nazareth, The Tubes, The Kinks, and Alice Cooper. What a great show! I was 17. Great memory.

Some things in life tickle me on the inside. My hubby and I were watching a little girl from OKC doing ventriloquism, then talked about Barbershop Quartets and I thought of Bowzer. I loved him KKRRAAZZZYYY as a kid. This stuff cracks me up and I thank God for KZbin!!! Thanks for making my weekend.

linsqo piring, last year, Sha Na Na stopped touring, and Donny York told me on another KZbin video that he stays in touch with ALL of the surviving former members, and he sometimes misses touring, but he sings while walking around the house, and his wife loves it!

I saw these guys live with my family. Man! Did they ever put on an awesome show. They could sing any 50s song and it sounded like the originals. The show was nearly thee hours and done smartly. To give the vocals a rest the band played some 50 instrumental song in the mean time.

It's not neccesarily greed on their part. I think they would be glad to do it for whatever they could get. It's probably all sorts of other factors that they have no control over. For example, a sketch like this could be considered offensive in today's PC/SJW culture (cannibal natives, airheaded women, gay stereotype, ect). Also, this is just not the type of humor that goes down today. Not enough F bombs and toilet jokes. And finally, 1950s nostalgia (which Sha Na Na was aimed at) is deader than disco at this point.

Johnny was fabulous with this song. The whole skit is funny. We could use some crazy comedy like this today. All we have are weird reality shows. This was lighthearted comedy at it's best. You could watch this with your kids and not worry about something blue being said. I really miss the show. Am grateful for these clips.
