So true shona ..thanks for raising out on this ...my comment might be a little long but sorry I was tempted to write ..coz any one reading it will understand this kind of couple coexistence also exists and make more sense ..half the women I see even young ones need self respect and filmy kind of life without putting in any efforts from there side ! There comment is ur lucky ur blessed with good husband..but respect is earnt by our deeds..we bought house at early stage of marraige and people think we are rich ..but no one knows how much I have struggled to double amounts by reading about investments , stock market ..my hubby taking classes along side his IT job..there is a lot of opportunity especially for women please use to earn self-respect and money ..rather than expecting it without efforts

Very nice shivaranjani. I and my husband both resembles with urs and Shona thoughts as well as the situation which u people went through. I with my hubby did the same forgetting about moving here and there and enjoying only the honeymoon period. We too are busy with are work and always wish to get the best from life by our hard work.

I always thought that if you are earning equal, and handle household work along with it, instead of keeping maid for cooking etx, we will save money as well as earn respect and love frm family But even after that my in-laws kept taunting mez despite living far away, they controlled my life . Me being able to handle things equally made my mother in law v insecure that people wid praise me or how m I being able to handle things, I saved money the same way u said as even my first agenda was house, but my mother in law wud not let my husband take it.. after 7 yrs of marriage, I got so frustrated that I left job and sitting idle at home, aur ghar ki responsibility bhi kam leti hu... It also depends on what type of family u live in they can either boost ur confidence or break u down, just because they want to control ur life. Mere case me ulta tha, meri saas ekdum naalayak thi aur roti rahi zindagi bhar victim ban ke, lekin mai aate hi karne lagi cheezein to wo imsecure ho gai।। Ye hoti hai kismat, aap kitna bhi daud bhaag loz agar aapke life me negative log hain to cheezein nahi ho paati.

Actually shona... even if you are financially independent.. still husband looks down on you and your salary... coz agar aap kam kamate ho tab bhi vo haafi hote hain... i think how the person is raised and upbringing..i have seen guys who love their wife and respect them even if they are not earning.. its all on upbringing..

Fir mane after marriage ki life thodi drawani lgne lgi. I thought kaun kasa hoga ye mere hath m nhi lekin m apni PDAI krungi to shayad kisi ulter problem m fasne s m bach jau. . Mujhe school m teachers s bdi appreciation milti thi. Fir Mera dhyan kitabon m Jyada chala gya. Fir mane electronics and communication s engineering ki with distinction marks. Mere college m placement nhi tha kyuki ssta sa college tha.isliye job nhi lgi. Pap Jyada pasa nhi dena chahte the isliye shadi m thodi problem aayi. But mere husband ki requirement thi ki ldki pdi likhi ho tv shadi karunga. Pasa secondary hoga. Jb unhone Pehli bar mujhse phone pr bat ki mujhse maths k kuchh formulas puchhe.fir inke ghar wale meri degree lekr gye photo k sath. Fir wo dekhne aaye aur shadi ho gyi. Mere husband mujhse ek sal bde h aur it engineer h. Unhone kuchh demand v nhi rakhi. Aur sach m kuchh nhi Liya. Jo papa n diya bs whi.

Shona I am just like u...Maine bhi aise hi decisions liye h...same ghar search karna ,khud ka kharcha nikalna and humne khud ka ghar b sath milke liya h...and after delivery maine job drop kiya and khud ka business start kiya ...wo b khud ki savings se..my husband said k kya jarurat h...itni mehnat kyu karti ho...koi kami ni h ...main har month alag se paise de deta hu tumko tum enjoy karo...but mujse banta hi nahi h aise...muje kaam karna pasand h ..khud se kamana khud k paiso ko kharch karne ka alag hi maja h...

Yes you are right. Presently I am home maker for last 3 yrs as we had to shift to new place. Me and my husband was working in the same company. When we shifted to Hyderabad I had to leave the job to look after my kids. Standing on your own feet actually boost up your confidence. My husband always supports me and we take joint decisions.

You could have chosen to not speak about it, it is very easy to ignore such topics but the fact that you decided to speak is very brave. Not many influencers feel it's their responsibility to talk about these things since it doesn't affect them directly. Today you could be impacting someone's life in a positive way.
