Shabby Sweet Bookmarks and Tags | Easy Beginners Junk Journal Project

Today we are using file folders to create beautifully coordinated bookmarks and hang tags, all in their own little folder!
Scraps of lace, doilies and paper just add to the Shabby Crafty Fun!
Toile fabric purchased online from Walmart. Blue Floral, and Pink Tea Garden fabric purchased from Hobby Lobby.

@@kindashabby, Becky, I have some cardboard boxes of various sizes. My granddaughters Pamper Diaper boxes are the biggest. What do you think about covering those with- fabric or scrap book paper or some quality wrapping paper. Those boxes I have saved would make great storage and organizing boxes for me, but pretty than just a Pamper box or fan box etc. Heavy coat of modge podge or light coat? I’m glad you showed using a stiff piece of plastic and bone folder for smoothing out the surface and not needing to purchase a brayer.

What adorable projects Becky! 😍 I love how you covered the Cascade container! What perfect storage for so many crafting items! 😘 Having access to items standing up makes them so convenient to find! This works so well for many items! The file folders turned out absolutely gorgeous! The glued fabric is beautiful and gives a great sturdiness to the folder. I've never seen anything quite like this before and I think it's a brilliant idea! The bookmarks and tags were just so imaginative with the adornments of fabric, lace and buttons! There are still a lot of people who love to read books! The bookmarks you made are so inspiring and they would make wonderful gifts! I love how you almost always include pink! It has to be my favorite color and I so enjoy seeing it! The fabric in itself was so beautiful and I love how you placed it on the folders! I used to check out the fabric at Hobby Lobby all the time but hardly go to that part of the store anymore. I really need to start looking again after seeing your gorgeous pieces! Thank you so much Laurie! I have my videos planned out so far in advance that I keep forgetting to add it to the list. After I made my shabby tassel, I used a long upholstery needle to pull the ends through the spool to tie it to my jar. Have a great weekend!

I’m so glad you enjoyed these projects Debra! Please forgive my late response. I use many different types of glue depending on the type of paper I’m using. I like Art Glitter glue (brand name that doesn’t contain glitter), Fabritac, Alene’s Tacky Glue, regular School glue, glue tape strips, Elmer’s glue sticks, and Mod Podge. I hope this helps.
