These are neat pockets Tina. I can't imagine your first video being as bad as you say. I will have to check it out. Tell your son "Happy Birthday" and enjoy his driving!! Before my son was old enough to drive, we used to go to the cemetery, where my husband is buried, and I would let him drive in there. It was like a mini driving course. Time sure goes by fast and before you know it, they are grown and moved out on their own. Enjoy them while they are there with you. You will surely miss them when they are gone. 💕💕💕

I love these and I can make them of different lengths and widths and adapt them! Plan to make them this weekend. Going to London for the Rossetti exhibit on Saturday as I love pre-Raphaelite art. The weather is still supposed to be rubbish so Sunday will be craft day. I love circuses now, like Cirque du Soleil. They are so artistic and can be beautiful. I disliked them when they had animals as they treated the animals so badly, kept them in cages and wild animals traveling around everywhere must be horrible for them. So, YAY for the circus without animals!

Can only speak of our nephew who is in the circus. He attended extracurricular classes while in elementary school. Then onto a high school followed by CEGEP (college) for circus students. Has traveled, and continues to travel the world. He specializes in juggling, acrobatics and roue Cyr. He and his equally talented partner are based in London England presently. It has been an amazing journey to watch his stage presence at that very first show to where he, indeed, they are now. Montreal is the place to develop circus entertainers. Love the pockets. Another to be added to my must make list
@shabbydabbydoodah Жыл бұрын
Wow, just googled what roue cyr was, another mesmerising thing to watch. Honestly I am just in awe of the talent and commitment to their craft that circus entertainers have, they’re just incredible. He and his partner must have a very fun and varied life, hard work though I’m sure. Thank you for sharing how he got involved and trained, I find it really fascinating xx

Ohy GOSH, Tina!! Yes!! That first time with the fire eaters and the motorcyclists who drive around inside those balls or jump over stacks of burning cars or the trapeze artists who swing and let go that FIRST TIME without a net hoping their partner will catch them!! I think about that stuff ALL the time! Ugh! I mean, that split second when you realize you're TOTALLY committed and there is NO turning back. 😬😬!! Love today's vid... Nice and long! 😊. It seems I have to come shopping at your place cuz I can only find one color of tiny rose trim AND I still desperately want your black diamonte trim. ...pay day is coming!! Woo hoo!! 193!!! Ooh a variation, cool. Oh yes, I like this version more! Loads of functions too! Oh that's cool too! Lol Amazon, for everything 🙈. Aw don't need to apologise honey. Pleaded you feel better now. Yes autumn has landed, so wet and windy 🙈. I had tights on yesterday too. I like Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn was another great part for her) but NOT Barbie🙈. Lol sounds like a mad twist though. 😄 love your daughter's rebellion🙊. I've never been to the circus! I watched cirque du soliel on t.v.which was amazing. 😂 I love clowns (Halloween ones). Pleased there's no animals now. Lol they start on low down equipment and use nets up high for training. Even so, it's probably in their blood and around it their whole lives. I did gymnastics when young and loved the bars, trestle etc. The bikes are amazing, no idea how they get that good. They obviously work extremely hard in the troup. Happy 17th birthday! My youngest is 15 this year (my oldest just turned 35! 😱). Don't think he'll mind the rain 🙊. My Mr started Hannibal again and I'd forgotten how good looking Hugh Dancy was 😍 (Will, poor broken Will!). It takes a while to get to the pigs but I like the psychological deep dive it takes. Gillian Anderson is always good (you HAVE to watch her in The Fall) on Netflix!! It's brilliant) and Eddie Izzard is good too I think. Anderson is very demure and elegant in everything. Oh I've been using that square pearl trim lately, makes cute flower centres too. The grey lace looks so pretty on the pink 😍. Did they leave your house messy?🙈. Really cool, love the variations. Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

By Rebecca Kiessling: "For my birthday, I thought it would be fun to take my older teen daughters to see #BarbieTheMovie . We wore pink and thought we were in for lots of laughs, a bit of nostalgia and maybe a nice message. [Spoiler alert] But right away, little girls are depicted as oppressed by having to play with baby dolls, unhappy having to push strollers, all wearing drab prairie dresses. Then life-size 50s Barbie appears and they celebrate by brutally and angrily smashing their baby dolls' heads in. I immediately thought, "Uh oh." But then I was amused to see what I'd hoped for: the life-size re-creation of Malibu Barbie world, which was very nostalgic for me. However, I immediately thought it was odd that Barbie blew off Ken - like Ken and Barbie were never a thing. But I still anticipated that she'd realize how rude she's been, how "her Ken" and all the other Kens are homeless, car-less, jobless, etc, and that maybe there would be a positive message there with balance being achieved in the end. But no, it took another dark turn where she suddenly blurts out asking if anyone else thinks about death. Well, for me, it's been every day since losing my 2 sons. I came to see the Barbie movie as a respice from that. The woman playing with Barbie in "the real world" has been thinking about death. The movie makes the express point that for women, life is very complicated and can be painful at times. Yes, so true, but I suspect most women going to see Barbie were thinking it'd be fun, with a nice message - entertaining, an escape from the reality of what's painful in life. But no, the filmmakers went dark. If I am in a good space and mindset to go see a dark, contemplative movie talking about the struggle of thinking about death, it's not going to be the Barbie movie! And it just got darker from there... The Barbie movie went over the top, 100% made men look stupid (even the Alann doll who was trying to help them) and if left unchecked, the men become patriarchal, rude, obnoxious and subvert women. It got uncomfortable... There was no love represented between a man and a woman. The character from the real world had a husband, but was depicted as a buffoon. The whole film was 100% women's independence from men. Back in Barbieland, the women who had become tainted by the men all got "deprogrammed" through a well-reasoned plea about womanhood (which was actually really great), but a reasoned plea wasn't even tried on the men. No, they had to be tricked by having the women act stupid and helpless - like that's what it takes to please a man or to get his attention. The men pout once "the party's over" for them. There never ends up being a real reconciliation between the Kens and the Barbies. Kens are all still homeless, jobless and are told by the female President that they may get a chance to play more of a role in their society, but then she laughs along with all the other Barbies side glancing when a Ken asks if he can serve on the Supreme Court. In today's culture, I think it's clear why, and it's obvious what the message being delivered by the filmmakers is - we have to rule so they can have abortions. The film repeatedly mocked Midge - the pregnant Barbie "ew, creepy. Who wants to see THAT?" It made the point that she was discontinued because sales weren't good. Well, what about the transgender Barbie who was one of "stereotypical Barbie's" inner circle friends (who had plenty of lines in the movie)? Has Mattel ever in fact tried selling transgender Barbie? I'd love to see how those sales go. Nobody wants to play with Ken in a bikini with Barbie's bust. But they're being 100% woke. And the movie ends anti-climactic, not with Barbie going for a job interview, discovering what important things she will do with her life, but going to a gynecologist because she's finally a "real woman" with a vagina. Well, which is it woke Hollywood? Does having a vagina make you a real woman or can those with a penis be a real woman too? I highly recommend against going to see Barbie."
@shabbydabbydoodah Жыл бұрын
You make some great points Ann, a lot of things that I had missed completely. Completely going against feminism, I have to be honest and say that I was with my daughters frame of mind and would have preferred to see the fun “pink” world of Barbie and avoid all the depressing “real life” issues that were thrown in. Sadly it seems that we can’t just see a bit of fun anymore can we, without as you say them having to prove points and bring up issues that they deem will be popular, shame we can’t just enjoy some good old entertainment xx
