I think that my favorite part of creating a Junk Journal is the fact that it is never quite finished. You can always add a pinecone here or a snowflake there. A stamp there or a bit of lace, etc. I love it!

What’s amazing is how you find exactly the right little add ons right off your desk! I’m inspired 😊

I like these little fillers. Nice and easy to make and definite scrap busters. I think the worst thing for me about making journals is knowing if I have enough variety of pockets etc to hold ephemera, journal cards and tags. I guess I'm still in the learning stage, only been doing this a couple of years. My favourite thing making journals is putting the pages together in the order I want them, I like to have an even flow-on effect. I like the pair of pages facing when open need to be in unison, ie: similar colours or same type of paper mix, eg: vintage adverts, letters and ledgers, or decorative items such as lace or frames or butterflies. Balance. With the embroidery thread, if you run it through wax, it will hold better when you tie it. I think your daughter is awfully creative. Poor pup, having to take the blame for something that's genetically instilled in him. Ingenious. LOL. Thanks again for the inspiration

I made 12. I didn't have any printed vellum so I used plain vellum. I didn't have printed acetate so I used laminated flowers that I had in my scraps. I didn't decorate or add lace because I can do that later. Much love to you and your family ❤❤❤ and Bo ...

Hey Tina, my favorite part of making a journal is picking out all the lovely papers. Whether they are Coffee dyed🎉 from old books, children's books, maps, handmade paper all kinds of paper even scrapbook paper. My least favorite is the cover of the journal because it needs to be top-notch because that's what people first see. It is like stage fright for people to see them. I love that you're on for the next 6 days I have really missed you totally understand I have anxiety myself. I'm so proud of you that you are able to do this and are so great at it. Prayers and love sent your way.💜💜💜

Hi Tina, my favorite part is actually printing out the kit and assembling the pages. My least favorite part is filling the pages with pockets and ephemera. I am very new to this hobby and I don't have my tool box filled with ideas and techniques yet. But I am getting there.

I haven't used doilies for ages. These are gorgeous and so handy for scrap busting! I love most things about making journals but do get fatigued around filling the pockets too. Especially with the bulk restrictions at that stage. That embroidery thread is a GORGEOUS blue 😍. Eating the post🙈 don't know why they do that, ours never did thankfully. 😄 the dog ate my homework😄😄😄. We had loads of homework at 9. My 15 year old gets none! He's at special needs school but studying for exams. His reports are wonderful though so not TOO worried but I think they go easy on them. We got him VR, it's amazing! KZbin do 360 videos, I watched a sight seeing one in Athens and it was gorgeous. You can literally turn your head anywher and see things/people walking around you etc. But he's an indoor dwelling kid so doesn't like bikes and scooters. There's always something they forget to add 🙈. Lol yes we had catalogue surfing before internet😄 as analogue as you can get!. WOW you did loads! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖

Yes, always underestimate the amount of things it takes to fill the pockets, very disappointing when you think you’re done and then you have loads more work to do. 🙄. Hope your 16 yr old gets on well with his exams 🤞. Wow that VR thing sounds amazing, I didn’t even know you could do things like that on KZbin. The Athens sightseeing video must have been wonderful. Technology is Sooooooooooo clever! Yes the dog ate my homework 😂🤣. An indoor dweller, that’s my daughter really too, she’d never want to go out on a scooter nowadays! Lol. Love the expression catalogue surfing 🤣, ah how things have changed 🤗. Hope you had a fab Christmas, have a great day xx

I love these, Tina. So simple but so pretty! …. I had a kitty who loved to eat paper. For many years I had to clean my craft desk and tuck away all my papers as soon as I finished up a craft session or she would jump up & get into it. 🤣😭

Another project I will be making. An easy way to ink the bakers twine is to sit the twine on the ink pad, press down on the twine with your inker and then just pull your string. It will ink both sides.

Tina, our dog started doing things like this out of boredom. I got her a new toy and it seems to help, but she still likes to sniff around every floor in the house and also likes stuffing, among other things. Love the idea of using the embroidery thread to match.

My dog chews the post. It is invading the house and must be killed. I'm a childminder and my dog pippin chewed an important letter from ofsted. I had images of contacting them and saying my dog chewed it, thankfully I could piece it together. No homework at that age from me and it's great that your daughter is independent but asking for help is life skill, we all need help now and then. I'm behind with KZbin but loving this series. Thank you xxx

Homework opinion: I think it is like giving an employee additional work to do at home without pay. The educational system has taken children out of the home away from mom and dad all day, then keeps them focused on schoolwork at home. It leaves little time to connect with the family. So sad and unnecessary.
