Yes I wish I would have done that one. I would like to get into the wool appliqué but the current one is a bit pricey for me not knowing to much about appliqué and virtually nothing about wool. 🥲 I think this one would have been the perfect one to cut my teeth on.

What kind of kit didn't provide you with needles and how did you not know you would need needles for a form of needlework??😂 god love you.
@serendipidus84822 ай бұрын
@LawandaFinch just get scraps from old charity shop clothes or your own old clothes and jumpers or blankets ..many blanket factories have a tone of scraps perfect for this if you just ask around on face book somone will have scraps. You don't need to buy anything. The entire point of these crops is to make use of small scraps of leftovers. 😂

I have an idea for placing the smaller pieces on the pumpkin. After you have fused your body, flip the placement guide over and place your face pieces face-down. Once in place, place the body on top (face down of course) using the outline as your guide. I would imagine the pieces will stick from the fusing if you want to flip to check before pressing. If you used the fusing mat on top of the reversed guide you can look from the underside and then fuse as is. You could also use either the pressing sheet or the layout guide to support the pieces as you flip it over then fuse.

@@ShabbyFabrics I will take a look thanks so much. I don’t do a lot of detail cross stitch as I am very new to it and just learning about the different cloths etcetera. I have been buying them from Erica Arndt here on KZbin. I started following her for her homeschool curriculum she writes as I am a homeschooler. She got into quilting and designing her own things and this girl rocks. Just does beautiful things and very easy for a beginner like me. She does a vintage truck of the month, that I love. Thanks for answering. Blessings from Texas!

When you’re assembling the pieces on the silicone mat first, do you take the backing off the biggest piece or do you wait to remove that backing until you’re ready to assemble it on the wool? If you did it first, wouldn’t it melt all the glue from the heat and bond and then not stick when you go to press it again?
@ShabbyFabrics3 жыл бұрын
The silicone mat we used in this video was intended to use with applique, so we find that our shapes don't stick to it when ironing the top pieces on. We haven't experienced negative effects of ironing these applique pieces on the mat, then them not being able to stick to the wool. Hope this helps!! -Michelle www.shabbyfabrics.com/c5278/notions/applique-mats

Can I use embroidery floss for stitching around shapes? What does it cost for a kit and what else do you need to make project?
@ShabbyFabrics4 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol, you can definitely use embroidery floss to stitch around the shapes. You will just want to use more strands that you would with cotton so that your embroidery stands out. The details, cost and recommended items to complete the candle mats is detailed on this page of our website. We sure hope to see you in our Club. Hi, is wool and felt is same?
@ShabbyFabrics3 жыл бұрын
Hello! To help clarify, according to the Wikipedia: "Felt is a textile material that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers together. Felt can be made of natural fibers such as wool or animal fur, or from synthetic fibers such as petroleum-based acrylic or acrylonitrile or wood pulp-based rayon. Blended fibers are also common." While felt is usually composed of wool (and sometimes other blended fibers), we specify that these mats are wool felt so that you know what type of fiber the felted material is made of. Hope this makes sense!! -Michelle

Looks to be a nice club to join. Does one need to purchase the wool kit or can I only get the pattern and use my own wool? Also, why is Halloween always selected to highlight in October? An autumn theme would be appealing to everyone and provide usage for a longer time over the season. I am not a fan of pagan Halloween, pumpkins or witches and I know there are a many who believe the same.
@sunflowerbaby18534 жыл бұрын
@@elenaallen5946 Pumpkins are an Autumn gourd. You don't have to put a face on it. This is the only time of the year the fruit is produced, so its very recognizable. Just alter the wool into your own designs. Acorns, fall leaves, etc.
@ShabbyFabrics4 жыл бұрын
Hi Roxanne, I know that many people enjoy the more overt theme of Halloween for October so we tend to choose is due to customer request but you could choose just the pumpkins with no faces and perhaps add in a different theme where the witches hats are. We chose beautiful autumn leaves for our November project so that one might appeal to you more.
