I am so glad to see you demonstrate these products and show us how amazing the finished projects look! I have always wanted to do a quilted project with the Ten Sisters fusible grid interfacing since I first heard about it 5 years ago. I personally think it's such a BRILLIANT and USEFUL product! I just completed a quilt for my Mom's bed and she wants me to make her two pillow shams with the scraps I have left over. THIS IS PERFECT FOR PILLOW SHAMS!! I'm going to your site now and making the purchase! Thank you Jen! ~~Christy~~

Could you use larger squares and when I watched the clipping part, I was confused, do you clip each row/column or just the outside (frame)? And how difficult is it to add on..if you were to make 6 of the “grid” in the video, how or is there a certain way to add?
@ShabbyFabrics6 ай бұрын
Hi Sue - You could use a larger size piece of fabric if you choose, but the guidelines may be a bit confusing. If you're using larger fabric squares, check out our tutorial on doing this with fusible, but no grid: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/475 When you do snip, you slightly snip (1/8", give or take) into the fusible, at each intersection. Jen also reviews this process in our Flower Girl Quilt tutorial (www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/699). Alot of these fusible grids can be rather long (we shortened ours for the sake of the tutorial), but they're easy to stitch together as the fusible material is very lightweight. Hope this helps! -Michelle

Quick tip: use a seam ripper rather than scissors to snip that dashed line. I've made two of the Tilda flower vase/embroidery quilts, and found that using a seam ripper goes a lot faster.

Such a great tip! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!! -Michelle
@janlarson34085 ай бұрын
Quiltycat, Are you saying to open the seam with the ripper? ie, you would then have a seam that could be pressed open? (not that you would press them open, I’m just trying to clarify the result)
@xxdonna1959xxАй бұрын
@@janlarson3408yes, I think they mean to nest the seams

The video was very informative and you make it look easy. If you were to use this to make an entire quilt, what is the process of sewing two grid pieces together? Is there any mystery to that??

Thank you so much. I am making an Irish Chain quilt. Is there any problem using the grid on just the 9 square and not the 6" piece of plain fabric? I love this video!

Hi Dalene - You can definitely use Fusible Grids for various projects, but you'll want to be careful that you know the measurement of the blocks on the grid for accurate sewing: www.shabbyfabrics.com/c7096 -Michelle

Does this wash out or do you peal it off after it's sewn? How do you join it for a bigger quilt?
@ShabbyFabrics2 ай бұрын
Hi Vanessa - This type of interfacing stays inside of the project. You should be able to join this type of interfacing like regular fabric. Hope this helps 💕 -Michelle

I’m using my first fusible grid interfacing on blocks that are 8 squares by 8 squares, but I can’t figure out how to sew and press the seams to ensure that you connect the blocks in rows with nested seams, and then how to nest the rows of connected blocks together with nested seams. Do you have any advice? Thank you 😊
@ShabbyFabricsАй бұрын
Hi Donna - We did use a 1/4" seam allowance when sewing our rows on this fusible grid. I'm not sure if that helps you, but we may be able to answer your question better if you send us some photos of what you're working with (you can send them through FB Messenger or support@shabbyfabrics.com). -Michelle

How are the different sections sewn together for this project?🤔
@ShabbyFabrics4 ай бұрын
Hi Mary - For our Flower Girl Quilt, the fusible grid comes in really long pieces so you will not need to attach grid pieces to grid pieces. The grid pieces for Flower Girl will be attached directly to the green sashing pieces. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
