I absolutely love this pattern and can't wait to sew these for my dear ladies in my prayer group; Debbie, Kathy, and Vivianne. I know several people who I will be putting on my prayer list, but mostly on my heart at this time is my friend and co-worker, Christine, who lost her husband and best friend Brent this past summer. She needs prayers to deal with her grief. Thank you Shabby Fabrics!

Today I picked up my quilt from the quilters. When I took it out of the bag this tutorial for this prayer heart was included. The quilt is for my mother. We just recently started speaking after over 10 years I decided to make her a quilt. I am also excited to send her one of these prayer hearts. I may sew it to the quilt but I will definitely place a Bible verse tucked inside. Thank you for creating this. I will also be making these for my our granddaughters

Because of my hands sometimes hurt, it's hard for me to turn small things out. I found that stitching the small pocket prayer quilts on the outside and trim with pinking shears works great. Love this idea & I’m going to make lots for family & friends. Edit: After reading some of the comments ..my sister makes knitted caps for people going thru chemo so I think I’ll make some to go with the caps. Great idea ladies! I have a tip BEFORE turning heart right side out: At the opening press the 1/4 seam allowance in place so this way there is less fudging before you sew it closed.

I have a friend that has just completed her final round of chemotherapy for the 3rd time against breast cancer and have a few friends that have gone through it too so I think making them in different pink fabrics and giving them to them will be comforting. I have made the original pocket prayers and put them in baggies and left them in the back of my church since we have only been able to start attending and many have commented how comforting they have been. Thank you for something inspiring during these difficult times we are all experiencing.

Thank you for sharing this with us! I love watching your tutorials, as I am new to quilting and sewing and I love the way you explain things! We lost my Dad to covid January 2021. My family and I have been having a hard time dealing with things. We never got to say goodbye as we were not allowed into the hospital to see him, so he died alone without any of us. The only time we did get to see him, was when the nurses had a minute and they would let us video chat with him. It was a truly horrible experience that I hope no one else has to go through. My Mom and I made some memory bears out of his shirts for the family. After watching this, I decided to use some of the scrap material leftovers from the bears and I made these for my family. They loved it. Now, my family can take a piece of Dad with them in their pocket or purse and when they feel the need, it is there for them. I am so thankful that you shared this with us.

So very sweet. I’m going to make one for each of my sisters in law (2) and one for my husband. My husband takes such good care of me. ( I have cancer in my brain and multiple sclerosis........double whammy) He helps me stay strong, he is my rock! The girls are also rocks to me. Make me laugh, are always there if I need them. I’m brand new to sewing, so I look forward to this, and the squares. 🙏

Thank you for sharing and making this tutorial! I'm making a comfort quilt for a friend who will be bringing her husband home for hospice care. Very sad. But I decided to add pocket hearts with my husband's and my prayers for them both in about 9 squares. Thank you!

I really Love this! I don't know about others, but I tend to lose things out of my pockets and purse. I will probably sew or hot glue a pin-backing to the back of some of the hearts. Then it can be pinned into the pocket or purse without the fear of it falling out when they pull out their phone or keys, etc. They could also wear it on the inside or outside of their clothing, keeping it close to their own heart if they wanted. Thank you so much for this tutorial! It is such a wonderful gift to give. I cannot wait to make some for my friends and family. 💖

I love this Idea, but most of all I love YOUR heart for Jesus and other's! I am a pastor's wife and I do weekly free quilting classes, all sewing machines and supplies are free for each person to make their own quilt. The Lord layed this on my heart 3 years ago to make it possible for all ladies from anywhere to come to a safe place thst cost nothing inorder make their own quilt to keep. I started finding thrifting sewing machines and repairing them, letting people know I would take their leftover scrap material & batting for the classes. I HAVE SAID THIS BECAUSE YOU BLESSED MY HEART WHEN YOU JUST COULDN'T THROW AWAY YOUR SCRAPS! GOD BLESS YOU!
