I was so thankful the judge saw through my ex's excuses lies and attempts to justify her actions against myself and our children. I was ultimately awarded custody of our 2 wonderful and beautiful boys. One of which is not my biological son, but I love him without distinction. I am truly grateful for that outcome. But all of the pain and hurt the boys and I endured still hits deep. I'm scared my heart continues to hurts. I long for the day when I don't still feel as if it happened yesterday! Six years ago I had to walk away with my 3 boys from a horrible marriage, a beautiful home I had lived in since I was 2, I lost everything I had to get out. When that happens you really truly see that the only thing that matters are my children/family. Hearing this song helps take away the guilt I feel of leaving their home. It helps make me feel like hard choices need to be made and you just have to move on from them. I thank him for this song because it really hits home. Things do improve and God does test us but he is with us even when we feel like we have no one at all.

Im 44, my daughter left this cold place 3 years ago after her drug addiction took her life. I slept 2 of the longest nights of my life in the hospital with her and prayed so hard i thought my head was burning. The nurses and doctors kept coming in and opening her eyelids to see if there was any brain activity through her eyes...there never was, my sweet love wasn't there anymore. After heating and cooling her body and confirming there was no brain activity we sent her off to the gift of life late that third night. That was the last kiss and hug I ever gave my baby as they rolled her away into the ambulance. She turned 24 the next month. This song gift helps remind me to try to forget all those terrible happenings and focus on the beautiful and funny woman my daughter Deandra will always be. She was my angel 😇 then and she is my angel 😇 now. Fly high to those who have been lost from addiction and keep praying for loved ones with an addiction and even if you cant help...keep hugging. We are only here for a blink of an eye. We should all love harder! Mr. Shaboozey, thank you! The emotions you put into this piece of artwork are unspeakable for them to come through music this way. Trigger warning: This song reminds me of my lame ass cousin that would always slightly molest me whenever I was at family gatherings. At the time, I was 12 and he was 17 and it would continue for 5 years. At the movie theaters, family parties, pool parties, days at the beach with my other cousins and friends. This song made me remember abusive relationships. Its an anthem for all survivors, including those who weren’t believed or supported. I believe you and it was 10000% wrong. My cousin didn't do anything that he would go to jail for, but he would scratch my knee...but like in a slightly weird sexual way. I feel like alot of people would tell me to forget about it and move on with my life, so thats why I haven't really said anything to my entire family. I wonder if others have any similar experiences where the sexual abuse wasnt too extreme.

I’m so sorry you had to endure that and was left to deal with so much pain, even still. Please know that you’re not alone. Mine was a boyfriend of my mom’s. The older I get the more people I meet who have been sexual assaulted- it’s staggering. Honestly it seems to be more common than not. The horrible actions done to us, and the assholes probably never think about it again; those things will haunt us for the rest of our days.
