I have been busy working on my Amateur Radio license sufficient to work on a Hallicrafters HT-37 transmitter, and working with a contractor to build a shop and shack worthy of the project.

Albert - your new radio room is progressing nicely. It’s good to know a quality builder and I know you are excited about the addition. That was a funny story about the HOA. Glad y’all worked out the antenna placement and congrats on your General Class... All the best. Don

Time, expense, money and about 55 years. And extreme example is "why I never became a private pilot." There are comparisons, but flying requires maintaining qualifications and skills and is very expensive, while ARO is not so strict. ARO can be expensive, and good 21st Century equipment is out of sight, but what I do restoring equipment is far cheaper. Still, simply listening to shortwave was adequate and fun - until my SX-100 went belly up about 5 years ago, and I went to work. I think my Hallicrafters "mostly" shack will be quite entertaining especially when I get too old to do much else.
