I've Been Told that you can grind them good and make fish patties I have yet to try it but it sounds delicious. I have grilled shad and steelhead for a party and everybody went back for the shed they seem to have liked it much better than the steelhead.
@washingtonlife2 жыл бұрын
Yes that will be my next recipe is to grind them down in a food processor and make fish patties out of them. They will be running in 3 months so get ready for the season coming soon 😃. I think these fish has better flavors then steelheads so that’s probably why all the people at the Shad at your party lol. Thank you for watching cheers!

That’s how my mom prepare her shads too! Also we sun dry them after being marinated with fish and chili sauce for a day. Turns out really good!

Always used to love the way my mom made these. She would butterfly, marinade and dry in the hot sun. Then fry after it’s been dried to a specific texture. Add some rice and some Cambodian pickled veggies to the mix and 🔥. Great video brother!

@washingtonlife2 жыл бұрын
@@jimmeyers6070 no not kimchi it’s a different type of pickle that consist of cucumber, carrots, and American cabbage. Honestly it’s better than kimchi in my opinion lol. I’m not sure how to make it but the brine is clear not red like kimchi

I never understood why people call them garbage fish when they are biblicaly a scally fish which are supposed to be consumed for diet not unscaled like cat fish ; but hay man they all taste good if you prep them right 🤔!!...
@washingtonlife2 жыл бұрын
That’s what I’m trying to understand too! I appreciate your comment and I totally agree they are delicious if you prep them right. I’m thinking it’s considered garbage fish because 1: they are too boney, 2: too oily and 3: they have a really strong fishy smell to them. That’s just my guess lol. Thank you for watching and cheers!
