It's always nice to see the Nguyen and Tran families in June for the " SHAD FEST " we can always count on them to catch about 4,000 to 5,000 shad during the run. Honestly NONE goes to waste, they have a total of (10 ) ten mouths to feed. That's about 400 - 500 fish per person for the year, and they NEVER get tired of fish soup night. LOL....

i actually fish their on the washington side much better water is calmer and shoreline is all level with water it is great!!!

I live in Bend. What time of year should I plan to drive down there for this shad run??

The end of May - June. Check the Bonneville Dam' Fishing Report. If shad counts are more than 3,000-10,000 per day, it is a right time for shad fishing. www.fpc.org/currentdaily/HistFishTwo_7day-ytd_Adults.htm

coming from Canada for some vacation this summer. is the fishing license from either Oregon or Washington can be duo? or must be fish at their designated state side?

Unfortunately, it can not be duo. If you obtain an Oregon fishing license, it is illegal to fish on Washington's bank and vice versa.

Thank you, Since I'm coming for some camping in early August with kids, where is a good spot/beach for some Shore or Bank fishing along the Oregon side? Most people I approached has this "secret location" kinda approach. Understandably, I'm only there for few days in Portland, so if you must, you can private message me. Basically any public land is good to fish? Or there's a certain good spot for some good C&R? As well, we are going to try some clamming and crabbing? We will be working down the coast down to Coos bay. So any suggestions would be must appreacited..:D Thanks advance.
