Dr K. Gyasi passed away December, 21, 2012 at age 90 due to Prostate Cancer. A talented musician in his time, K Gyasi was one of the early pioneers of highlife music, contributing immensely to the genre. He was one of few acts, who made the guitar instrument popular between the 1950s to 1970s . In the mid sixties, he experimented mostly with pop highlife, breaking several records with soft-selling EPs.
Kay, as he is mostly referred to, Dr. K. Gyasi toured the United Kingdom and Europe in the Summer of 1975, putting Ghana on the map, and enhancing the popularity of highlife music.
He was associated with what came to be known as Sikyi Highlife, following in the footsteps of the likes of Jerry Hanson of the Ramblers International Band, who took up Classical Highlife and made it extremely popular.
In 2004, during Ghana’s 47th Independence Anniversary, Gyasi together with the likes of King Onyina, Agya Koo Nimo, Dr K Gyasi, Jerry Hanson, Alhaji Fuseini Pia, Togbe Daniel Ahegbebu and Efua Dorkenoo were recognized under the Living Legend series scheme instituted by the National Theatre of Ghana and Musicians Association of Ghana (MUSIGA).
rguably one of the originators of Ghana’s Highlife, Dr. K. Gyasi was born into a musical family in 1929 and raised in Patasi, a suburb in the Ashanti Region. He played guitar with the Appiah Adjekum Band and made his first recording two years later. In 1963, Dr. K. Gyasi was already a popular household name where music was concerned and even got invited by President Kwame Nkrumah to accompany him on various trips.
Dr K Gyasi formed his Noble Kings Band later on in his career and for most part of his career, him and his band were successful and produced various hits. He also formed a theater group that toured various villages and provided various levels of entertainment to them. He is one of the musicians whose works were affected badly by the various coups that happened in Ghana some years back. He will surely be missed, gone, but not forgotten. The language is sung in Twi. The other medley (Yede Aba) is posted by Groovemonzter.

@@francisyeboah8697 He was the first musician to introduce organ into the highlife bandstand instruments and also recorded the first highlife song with the organ in the instrumentation. The song was "Agya M'ani Da Wo So." The organist or keyboardist was one Honey.

TRÈS BONNES MUSIQUES, SOURCE DE LA SAGESSE AFRICAINE. NOUS SOMMES NES CETTE MUSIQUE ÉTAIT LÀ. NOUS AVONS GRANDI, ELLE ENCORE PLUS DOUCE QU' AVANT. ON NE LASSERA PAS D' ÉCOUTER LA MUSIQUE GHANAENNE. ON Y TIRE BEAUCOUP DE RICHESSE. DR GYASI FAIT PARTIE DE CEUX QUI ONT CONSTRUIT LE GHANA MODERNE PAR SA MUSIQUE. MORT À 90 ANS, IL A TOUT DONNÉ À L' AFRIQUE. REPOSE DANS LA PAIX DU CHRIST JÉSUS, DOCTEUR !

The first part, efie ne fie talks about returning home after making the journey to better ones life and finding no fortunes. Returning is always difficult but all are entreated to make that journey because home is definitely home. Other parts are local folklore about the great spider( ananse) here in Ghana. Hope this helps. I might have to add to this later on. Hope this helps.
