Good luck! Smaller should certainly be easier and less stress on materials. Send me some pics! I’d love to see it when done!

How is the tarp holding up? I’m thinking of getting some from HF but I don’t know if they will resiste the summer sun in California

So far so good. Noticing some weathering, but overall, they’re still holding together.

You can disassemble that spring tensioner and eliminate the carabiner by looping one side of the tensioner through you turn buckle eye bolt.

I had actually originally done what you’re describing, but at some point realized I liked being able to quickly de-tension and disassemble everything in the event of a big storm or anchor failure. Other than that, yes, you could simplify the combination a bit. Thanks for your thoughts! Hope all is well!

Are you happy with the amount of light this particular sunshade filters out?

It’s a pretty dramatic difference between having it and not having it. When it’s 110 degrees outside it certainly makes it more bearable. Thanks and stay well!

This is awesome! I considered doing something like this too! If you have the right set up it’s not a bad looking idea! Good find!

If you can down by the wire near the rock wall put some yellow or bright colored ties on the cable for safety reason. Not sure if people ride dirt bikes?

That’s a good idea, this area is in a wash and not really a ridding or walking area. But, that’s a good idea and maybe I’ll do it anyway. Thanks for the suggestion!

You can’t add concrete to the inside of the pole because now instead of the pole bending it’s going to sheer off with concrete inside of it, making it much more dangerous than what it was in the first place 😮

You might be right if this post was experiencing any serious force. But in this application, it has withstood several storms and with cable support has not had any problems. Thanks for your feedback though!

Thanks! So far it’s been up for going on 3 months. Handles most winds fairly well. The 50 and 60 mph gusts pick it up a little more though haha. Thanks for your kind words! Good luck!

How does in hold up during rain and wind
@CEEJ-MAN
@CEEJ-MAN 3 ай бұрын
As long as the wind doesn’t exceed about 30-40mph it’s pretty tame. I’ve had a couple days beyond that and I certainly keep my eye on it haha. Rain doesn’t effect it
