Yes, loads of potential and lots to ponder. There are many possibilities I am sure. Sara Von Tresckow, for example, rigs ten treadles for two different shades of 5-end satin. But all those pull handles must be good for something other than patterning ... I am thinking hard. I hope you'll share what you come up with!

Thank you! Changing the tie-ups gets easier and faster with practice - I think the trick will be to come up with a suitable design that makes the most of each change.

كالعادة - الفيديو رائع وانتى عبقرية في اللعب على النول ولكن هل كان من الممكن ان نوظف بعض الروافع على لوحة الرسم (7) لهذا الغرض؟ بمعنى ان رباط الدوس يكون ثابت كالمعتاد ونربط كل رافعة برافعة على لوحة الرسم وعند الضغط نرفع الرافعة التى عليها الدور؟

As usual - great video And you are a genius at playing the loom But was it possible to employ some levers on the drawing board (7) for this purpose? Meaning that the tie up is fixed as usual and we connect each lever to a lever on the drawing board When pressing, we raise the lever on which the turn is?

I am thinking hard about other ways to do it - including using the pull handles for structure rather than pattern. Do you have more ideas? What I don't want to have to do is pull every row. I'd much rather have a Jacquard head for that!

Love your videos. So informative. I have an 8 shaft baby wolf jack loom but am looking into getting a Julia drawloom. On my loom shaft 1 is in front of the weaver. On a drawloom is shaft 1 at the back of the loom. Also, do you treadle from left to right or right to left. Thank you.

This is a point of debate, I know - but the numbering of shafts is pretty arbitrary. Since I teach at Vävstuga, I use the Swedish system of starting to number towards the back of the loom - but when I remember I try to use terms like 'the shaft closest to the beater' to avoid confusion. We could name them Lewis, Max, George, and Charles and that would be OK! Similarly, it is our convention to treadle from right to left - but that doesn't matter either and depending on what I'm doing I may decide to switch it up. You do you!

😂😂😂😂 That made me laugh. thank you Amy. I won't get hooked up on the small stuff. I guess threading back to front or front to back and treadling right to left or left to right really doesn't matter as long as I keep things consistent.
