His reviews of whatever he gets his hands on are so straight up, down to earth, witty and honest that even if he reviews shit that don't interest me, I watch it anyway. Your videos sure do keep me company in the very early morning hours when the pain in my back seems to be the worst. After riding and partying all my life my back finally wants to retire. I've tried surgeries, all kinds of pills and as much exercise as I can handle. You and your friends are like family coming to visit me with the best videos on KZbin. Every one lifts my spirit and helps my oxys kill my pain. I've had three major wrecks and a few, ha ha, minor ones. Almost all of them caused by people not paying attention when they were driving their cages and of course my drinking didn't help my reflects. I hope you and your loved ones keep up with the great things you do!!!

New rider here. Purchased my first motorcycle about 14 months ago. 2008 HD Sportster Nightster 1200 XL, 8.5K miles. I love watching channels like these and the confidence experienced riders show like speed, no hands, riding in the rain and what not. I'm nowhere near there but I'm on my way. Anywho, I had no idea you could wash a motorcycle the way you did. That's awesome! I wash mine with Meguiar's waterless wash and wax because I was worried about electrical issues. Anyway, good stuff, good vid, good job!!!

Of the many types of road bikes I've owned over 40 years, the 1999 HD FLHR (Road King) is my favorite. It is honestly a very balanced heavy bike. The stage 1 88 inch carburated motor has the torque to make me grin year after year. I lean it over and scrape those floorboards in the curves and it sticks hard even with the basic HD- recommended Dunlops. It never lets me down.

What an incredible in-depth and honest review! I actually DO agree with right at 100% of everything you said about the Special! Harley knocked it straight outta de park with this truly awesome machine. I own a 2019 Special in Midnight Blue bought new September 2019 and am deeply in love with. Stage 3 with Arlen Ness Monster Sucker air cleaner, Vance & Hines power duals and SVT Boneshaker extreme slipons with a Fuelpak3 ruling the mix. Only thing left a Red Shift 468 cam upgrade this winter. Currently my ride consists of: 2019 Road King Special, KST Kustoms 14" Spearhead bars, Freedom Shields 22" medium tint, Saddlemen Road Sofa LS heated seat, Arlen Ness Monster Sucker cleaner, V&H power duals, SVT Boneshaker extreme slipons, V&H Fuelpak3, Harley Spectra-Glo kit, Custom Dynamics head & passing lights, C. D. front & Kuryakin LED rear turns & other assorted mini-mods! Thank you for that stellar review! Jon

Best motorcycle review ever! I have watched every shadetree episode with Berts Harley-Davidson 2020 Road King special. And I’ve loved his adventures on this machine. This was fair and unbiased. I went with a 2019 Sport Glide, which is technically Sport Touring. I got it for the same price as a brand new Low Rider at the time as they were clearing way for the new 2020's. I really didn't like big fairing touring bikes, but wanted something for long hauls that wouldn't kill my back. I however really like the Road King Special, especially after seeing Shadetree riding around on it and the review. Happy with my little FLSB, but dig the King. I appreciated the honest review, it's hard to find a good review of bikes that isn't just spec sheets and biases.

I regret that I have only one “thumbs-up” to give. All the way through this vid I was going “Yes, yes, yes!” I have an ‘85 FLHTC that has (I estimate) over 300,000 miles on it. I’ve held onto it for many of the reasons related here. Carbureted, cable clutch, simple fairing with no radio, simple motor that’s infinitely repair/rebuildable,...OK, so I’m rambling a bit. But although other kinds, and brands of bikes have come and gone since the ‘85 started to get a little old, it has stayed. And now I have a 2nd Harley. A 2013 FLHTC. It has allot of the electronic junk, but it’s been a great bike. For my next one though, I’d like to get back to basics. Possibly an Indian Springfield, or one of these. Thanks for your dose of reality.

Amazing review. Now that I've been riding for five years, HD has started to make a whole lot more sense. Once I tasted some speed on a sport bike I realized that 99.9% I just need competent power, not race track power. I'm definitely seeing an HD test ride or two in my future. One practical setback is that I park my bike outdoors. So I may wait until I buy a house with a garage before I buy an expensive bike.

Wow, best review ever. Specs....pfft...you describe the emotion of riding it and the practicality of how you use it. Great review!

love the start as well, when I brought my 2006 RK was thinking battery getting sad, but after a year on same battery have grown to love the occasion of it firing up.

I absolutely love that review! It is the best I’ve ever seen and heard. I was also thinking it is so well written, it sounded like you were reading off a newspaper editorial. I LOVE you’re style and delivery. Great job!

Brilliant format Josh. Well done on your first review. It is a breath of fresh air to hear a review that sets out to explain the feel and livability of the bike without it seeming contrived or formula driven.

Greatest line ever!! ITS A BAGGER WITH NO BS!! Love it!! My next bike. I hate radios. Fairings can't be bad, but all the bs is just crap to get you to not see the tire headed your way!

Full disclaimer: not a Harley owner, or even really a fan. But excellent review. Made me consider things I hadn't, and I think that's the point. Gorgeous bike, good points, and quality presentation my man!

Exactly right about the handling. I own a Road Glide Special and when I tell folks how well it handles, they look at me like I’m lying. Never know until ya try it. 👍🏼

One of the most enjoyable reviews of a motorbike I have seen. I agree with all of the comments (I own one myself), and having previously owned Honda, BMW and Harley softail bikes I reckon the RKS will be my forever bike - you can strip off the bags in seconds, leaving it as a totally naked street bike, or you can add a windshield in seconds to allow you to cruise the highways / motorways at 80-100 mph - and it is easily customisable (I’ve changed the seat, exhaust, handlebars and even the paint colour to suit my own look and feel). I just love riding this bike - and I just loved the review (including the criticisms, which were more than fair).

Man that was hands down one of the best reviews on a bike I’ve seen on KZbin. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Solid content through and through.

That was a great review. Told us what you liked. Told us what you didn’t. You left the ultimate decision to the audience. Hopefully people go to test ride one. I love mine. 👍

I tried the Road King for the first time a few days ago, I have seen so many videos about it. But the feelings I experienced I find in your words. I hope I can buy it soon. Thank you!

Harley Davidson should use this video for their sales and marketing. They will turn around their sales in a minute. Regardless of the road king the best harley review that I have seen so far and perfectly gets the point across about not only the road king but Harleys in general.

You pretty much nailed it for Harley and especially the Road King. The never Harley crowd will never get it, mainly because they have never ridden one. I have a Road King Standard and based on my experience with it, I will always have a Road King. The riding experience is visceral and it can be customized in an endless number of combinations. I'm still waiting for one of the never Harley critics to come to my house to see there are no oil stains on my garage floor. Their ignorance is sad.

I absolutely love the HD Road King Classic (I wish they were made in the US). The simplicity, the spoked wheels, the white wall tires, and the avalanche of aftermarket parts. Such a joy and beauty to behold. For my retirement, I purchased a brand new 2012 Road King Classic (blue/black) that I configured with my preferences. It had the touring trunk, the HD GPS, the BOOM audio twin speakers, adjustable backrest, etc. Unfortunately, in 2017, the divorce lawyers required a sacrifice and my dream motorcycle was lost on the chopping block. But I digress. I’m 56 years young and have been riding since I was 13. I’ve lost count of the number of motorcycles I’ve had the pleasure to ride and own. Having said that, my 2012 Road King Classic was the best riding experience I’ve had on a motorcycle. I’m retired now and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to own one again, but at the very least I have my fond experiences. No one can ever take those away. If you own one, enjoy the good times and make lots of memories. Great review of the special! The only thing I would do to it is add a windshield.

Best review ever. You definitely need to do this more often. And Bert's should be able to raffle off the bikes you long-term test with profits going to a charity of your choice. Complete with a Shadetree signature on the tank or fender.

Great honest review. The RK is a solid daily ride (yep I own a standard 2020 RK) and touring mount. BTW the OEM front rotors are floaters. :-) I am a 35 year Harley technician and the 'King is my first new Harley since 1986. Great bike that you can indeed keep forever.

My best friend has a 16 Roadking .. He went and put a set of bagger bars on it and would not trade it for any amount of money . The Roadking is HD'S best all around bike in my opinion. Great video man ..
