I have been using the watercolor pencils for years, starting with the originals and adding the others later. I found with classes with seniors that watercolor pencils are easier for them to use.

TOTALLY AWESOME, Patty!! Such fun! I was amazed that you didn’t need to use “anything else” I.e. water, GAMSOL, alcohol but JUST PENCILS!! So, so cool n’ EASY!!! ALL of the images just “come to life” so much more! So happy you shared the “only stamped image” compared to the one w/“added pencil work”!! :-))))) I just used my PENCILS w/EVERY CHAPTER! Looked really neat but NOW, I CAN SEE SOME GREAT ENHANCEMENT w/YOUR TECHNIQUES! YAY! (Thanks to MITOSU CRAFTS, too!) TFS, Patty n’ HAPPY CREATIN’! BTW, the two cards are so cute, too! Sending SMILES from Madison, WI! :-)))))

Great technique, Patty , thank you ! Just one question , why didn’t you use our blender pens to blend instead of the pencil stumps ?
@pattystamps2 жыл бұрын
I wanted to keep it dry and not do a wet technique. You certainly can use the blender pens but you'll lose the brushstrokes and "dry" shaded look.

Loved it! Patty, What color did you start out with for the beer? Was it stamped first & then enhanced with pencils?
@kathymahon96092 жыл бұрын
Hi Patty, Love this technique. I tried the old pencils Stampin up had but I didn't like the water affect it had. So this is a great alternative to using the water. What ink did you use to stamp the images? They don't look like Memento ink. Thank you for the tips, as usual.
@pattystamps2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I thought i mentioned the ink for each one.. the jar is stamped in Tahitian Tide, you can see more on my blog today. The swim suits will be on my blog Monday. The beer mug outlines are stamped with Gray Granite or Basic Gray.

If you don't have a "stump", any other suggestions to use? And do the stump ever get sharpened?
@pattystamps2 жыл бұрын
You could try a Qtip. I checked amazon.. it's about $5 for the set of stumps including the sharpener.

Hello, are what your calling the stumps able to go into a regular pencil sharpener? Thank you Patty
@pattystamps2 жыл бұрын
I googled it and found a couple ways to sharpen them but it did not include a pencil sharpener.
@karenofficer42192 жыл бұрын
They make a small board with layers of sandpaper to sharpen the blending stump, aka tortillon.

Can you use blender pens instead of stumps?
@pattystamps2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I mentioned that.. you can use a blender pen, wink of stella, water brush or the stumps.
