That is so kind of you! I don't know what to say. We do have a paypal account but I am not sure how I would feel about that.

@@CountryLivingExperience I watch several homesteading and gardening YT channels and people support the channel buying products like tshirts, mugs, etc, through teespring (or similar), or purchase products you recommend and link through Amazon (as yours has), or donate directly via PayPal link. With all the time and energy you put into making good instructional videos, wear and tear on equipment, there's no harm in allowing people to show you how much they appreciate learning from you and supporting the channel. People are happy to help when they can. I actually see people ask, "Where's your PayPal link? I want to donate and support your channel." For real. 😊

I like how you told your daughter she could do it on her own, because you were teaching her. So good to enjoy your little helper but also empower her ❤️

Thank you for your time and info. Cool little little bit of history, I am St Augustine Florida ( est 1565 ) artifact hunter, I have recovered 1000s of 1500s - 1800s Spanish colonial artifacts, while digging on an old Spanish colonial homesite I recovered a super thick training egg, likely from the mid 1700s - 1830s. Just thought I would share 😊. Thank you again for your time.

I use a thin shade cloth ( I originally purchased it for bug protection over my greens) that I stapled over landscape mesh on an overhead structure for my peppers that were getting fried from the afternoon sun. It also serves as a wind break; two tomato plants benefit, as well. I have other plants in self wicking buckets under a pergola with a trellis cover that provides partial shade from the direct overhead sun. Those plants are extremely happy and producing in high temps of 90's-100's! We frequently get very strong winds in the high plains. So, I use a very strong shade cloth on one side which has to be secured well to protect them from the strong winds, and often hail... even in summer. I don't have as many plants, so it's pretty manageable. I have to have structures with either wire mesh or a pergola cover for protection from the hail. I am building cattle panel hoops to cover with shade cloth, then a wire mesh over it, to tie up some tomato plants. I can drop and move the strings if they get too tall, but I'll likely top them off at 9ft. So, I can say, as a second year gardener of a smaller garden, I found the shade cloth and partial coverings do make my plants happy and continually producing in high heat.

Awesome. Sounds like you have your homestead all set up. We get a lot of hail here too. Luckily, it has passed us by this year. Glad that shade cloth is working for you.

I was worried I was gonna loose my cherry tomatoes this year with all the 100° days and no rain here in SE Oklahoma. Silly things are over 7’ tall now and still going.
@CountryLivingExperience2 жыл бұрын
Glad they are still going. Ours have been producing a ton under the shade cloth.

I'm in texas. my tomato plants actually did kinda okay the past two years i've had them in the sun here... however my bellpepper plants get blasted to literal death by the sun. going to try this... might throw one over tomatoes and see if they do better with it!

Shade is sure important in this hot Texas sun.

Can I use a white cloth for shade. Or a sheet

As long as it lets enough light through for the plant to grow.
