Hello sir, I'm an artist myself and used to pictures of buildings and skylines in the past 20 years, but since 2014, I have been doing portraits. I build on it layer after layer, from light to dark, and its important to use different range of pencil grades from H to maybe 10b

The darkest pencil i’ve come across is the primo elite grande but the buttery texture of the conte is better, i have no idea how you managed to sharpen it to a fine point though, mine just snaps lol

I must try that Primo Pencil too.....yes Conte is prone to breakage I had to be very gentle, I use this like metal Sanding clip for a sharp point
