i love you peeping malina gazing from the jump. it’s not reserved for them, there’s gazing between darklina but idk he looks at her like a miraculous possession. mal looks at her with such tender love ugh they’re not nearly as cute in the books tho. these actors carried this ship in the show.

Just a big info drop from a fan of the books (no spoilers of course!) There’s 3 orders of the grisha. - Corporalki, or the Order of the Living and the Dead. Within this order you have healers (they can heal people), heartrenders (They can use their power to damage a person's internal organs. Their ability ranges from slowing a person's pulse to snatching the air from their lungs. The target must be in their line of sight.), and the rare tailors (ability to change a person's appearance.) they wear the red keftas (coats) - Etherealki, or the Order of Summoners. Within this order you have Inferni (manipulate fire), Tidemaker (manipulate water), Squallers (manipulate air). Then you have the two rare types of summoners the shadow and sun summoner. They wear the blue keftas (coats) except for the general he wears a black one - Materialki, or the Order of Fabrikators. Within this order you have Durasts (manipulate glass, steel, wood, plants, stone, or anything solid on a molecular level.) and Alkemi (They specialize in chemicals like blasting powders and poisons.) they wear purple keftas (coats)

They actually combined two series set within the same world Shadow and Bone series which includes Mal and Alina and their story and the Six of Crows series which has Kaz Brekker (boy with the cane), Jesper(the sharpshooter) and Inej (the wraith or spy).

Shadow and Bone is THAT good. Love that you appreciate Mal! All the characters are great, and the acting is top notch (S2 is even better). Yes, the show is adapted from books, the Shadow and Bone trilogy and Six of Crows duology, both set in the Grishaverse and written by Leigh Bardugo.

@@wwhn He's not bad bad but just different. Since we see it from Alina's eyes it's hard not to want to strangle him sometimes 😂They just made some changes for the show and it makes him more likeable from the get go...f.e he did sleep with the girl from the tent in the books

also you saying kaz looks like a villain and NOT the darkling is sooo funny to me lmfao. there’s a lot to be said tho about how certain traits in media are so often depicted as villains but… lemme not get into that. the book writer also has a cane and disability so she wanted to make a… sort of anti hero who also has that but is incredibly self sufficient and strong.
