It’s poetic how as D I O becomes bolder and more confident, his stand becomes fully humanoid and stops time longer. Before the crusaders got to egypt, D I O used more forceful ways of recruiting stand users, like peer pressure with Boingo and intimidation with Hol Horse and Avdol. As he kept learning, he realized that if you wanna do something right, you gotta do it yourself. It made him whole. Literally, it gave his stand legs.

It sounds powerful, but at the same time it sounds focused on a goal, it has harsh feeling to it, mercy is not it's prime goal for sure at that current time atleast, it sounds like the theme of someone that is looking at the sky and is determined to reach it no matter what. Jotaro's theme is more like looking at his friends and decides to protect them no matter what, it is like a ruler that uses his people to achieve his selfish goals, while the other is a ruler that cares for his people, even if they are both dreaming for something maybe a little bit beyond their reach. Dio is definetly more lonely than Jotaro, even if they are alone facing each other in the end. Jotaro's theme is filled with hope, for everyone, while Dio's theme has long forsaken such uthopian dream in order to focus on something different - power, which allows him to get all the things that jotaro could and more, but the inability to open himself up to other people, the inability to not be paranoid, the inability to drop his guard.

Shadow Dio is technically better than normal DIO. This is why, DIO always thought very highly of himself and was incredibly likely to “play with his food” meanwhile Shadow Dio was more level headed rather than over confident. Don’t get me wrong, they’re both still over confident, but Shadow Dio knew how confident he COULD be, while DIO figured he was unbeatable.
