This seems to share that core mechanism from Paris: New Eden. Could you give your thoughts on a comparison of the 2?

yes, i actually referenced new eden in the final thoughts. i think PNE has deeper gameplay but is criminally lacking in thematic integration. this one is super strong, thematically, and the gameplay is solid. i think jen would prefer this one, and i'd prefer PNE, but we both really enjoy both :)

Can you explain more clearly why the adversary scored 15 pts on its 1st time around? The battle card showed 4 icons. HOW does that translate into adversary’s points? I also heard the game will include 2 expansions that dont work for solo. That said, did you get proto expansions and if so, did you tryem with your wife and if you did, how did it go? I cringe about backing/paying for a game that includes expansions that I’ll never use (I was gonna get this for SOLO only but not sure its worth it).

i didn't show it, but there's a chart in the rulebook that says that 4 icons plan = 15vp for him, 3 icon plan = Xvp, 2 icons = Yvp (can't remember the values of the smaller plans, but they're progressively less, as you might imagine) :) didn't get a chance to check out the expansions, we just played the base game. i have to admit, i'm surprised for the solo rules that they didn't include more dice in the draft and have him take them as he goes around the board, to more closely emulate a normal game. i guess they juste wanted to keep it streamlined.

I really like the direction of the game but wow it looks fiddly with a lot of rules and nuance between the symbols

I was out as soon as I heard the story setting from Rahdo. I love the story setting of Spirit Island which does a similar thing within the story but unfortunately this is a step to far for me😆 The game itself look excellent and thanks Rahdo for your brilliant playthrough ✊
