FES symbolizes that death is an inevitable end, and that it shouldn't be resisted, while Reload shows that death isn't necessarily a horrid thing and the passed should be let go. It's a different approaches of the concept

[Coming from new player of the persona series] I love the new one! it has this aura of sadness and of nostalgia.. While the original has this sort of gut renching reality check. Did Atlus tonned it down because they didn't want to risk anything? Yeah. But what we got isn't as bad as people make it seems like both versions of this scene does different things, so much so that it's not even fair to really argue which one is the superior one! The one thing personally that I wish we got in the reload version was the smile at the end, but the music does a good job at replacing it, it's like it speaks for him instead

Yea, Reload is really more nostalgia vibes but giving it more of a less scary vibe for the scenes. With FES they really make the reality check on how death is scary in general and the process of a Makoto body decaying and fading is just creepy but got so symbolic for the plot of The Answer. Reload is more of moving on but a more positive approach and acceptance even if death of a loved one like the MC to the cast is a struggle for them.

Reload fits the for the atmosphere it kinda has. Its disappointing compared to the original but I for FES it worked so well cause that game was also made to creep you out from just the main story of FES. FES will always have the better cutscenes for its setting/story cause it matches its symbolism and just vibes. I like reload as it is a good game but the cutscenes for reload have been the one kinda disappointment compared to FES jank of what FES is.

People say that Reload feels less symbolic I say NOT He disappears with less gore and all but I'd say it conveys emotions of SEES finally letting go of him better. It has more beauty to it than shocking value, butterflies are also present in reload they still have a meaning (recently departed soul) AND WE FINALLY HAVE SEES' REACTION! While Aigis tries to reach out to him it's too late. Others are left in shock in FES they did NOT react to his horrifying disappearance and it felt more like just a cutscene for the sake of being a shocking cutscene for players where we still get the message but SEES just doesn't react to it I like Reload's version more specifically because it actually feels sadder and atleast characters actually react to his disappearance nostalgia is one hell of a drug I must say FES glazers need to stop complaining me personally like come on dude the whole theme of The Answer was "moving on"

From my interpretation, the FES cutscene is directed more to the player than the characters. That's why it has 4th wall-breaking elements like realistic decaying body and text. For the people who were still processing the MC's death at that point it felt like a reality check and confronting mortality head-on. I think showing the reaction of the party members in that scene would had been a little unnecesary and would break the sequence that it's trying to do. However, I respect your opinion on prefering the new version. Both are trying to go for something different, and I personally prefer the original because of how unique their approach were and the great execution.

not even tryna glaze FES, but if there’s one thing it had right, it was atmosphere. Reload literally felt weaker in almost every way. the only exception being the rooftop scene with Aigis in the ending.

I don't think that's it.... The original was like that because it demonstrates the fear and beauty of death. The original shows gorey imagery, showing the fear and brutality of death. Of comes for all of us. while the butterflies signify the beauty of the lives we lived. The end of the life cycle if you will. While reload shows it being more sad. Death is sudden, and and can happen anytime to anyone. There's beauty in death as there is with life. The imagery shows that beauty passing on. Even if I didn't phrase it properly, both are good and serve a purpose on p3s themes and storytelling. They just convey them differently.

@@oreotaku4017You do have the realize that most of the cutscenes in P3 FES had mostly symbolic meaning to them, which is what the original development team had in mind when having the original animation studio create these. Sure, they come off as super edgy but if you’re passing them off as being “super edgy” then you’re missing the entire point of all these cutscenes.

@@GreatChadhan again I know what they where going for. But I think that the original goes to heavy in the darker areas of the themes the games explored and because of that people think all Persona 3 was nothing but dark stuff. Completely forgetting the other half of the game’s message.
