I’m waiting for this band to blow up like Lorna Shore with stuff like this
@drtheengrumb44394 ай бұрын
Blow up? SOI is literally one of the top deathcore bands in the business. Ben is an OG LOL.
@HardDisposition4 ай бұрын
Angelmaker too. They need to do some weird stupid shit to go viral on tiktok, and Ben does not seem to be this kinda guy
@xRawPower3 ай бұрын
No shade at Lorna Shore - love those guys, happy for their success and a huge fan of their music - but tiktok and social media in general is not typically conducive for promoting metal or any genre of music that is inherently counter culture, aggressive to the degree LS is, or even 5% progressive in nature. The level of viral they achieved with To The Hellfire seemed like it was fueled largely by a fleeting curiosity in the demonic vocals genuinely freaking ppl out in a way that was not entirely about the music - kind of a circus freak situation, being honest. Ppl on a large scale peaking behind the veil into a world they don't otherwise participate in. Obviously some of those ppl became fans of the music, part of the culture - but I imagine the vast majority just moved on to whatever the next viral thing was whenever it happened. That is the nature of success on that scale, it feels inexplicable, is definitively ephemeral. SoI does not need that at all lol, frankly I would selfishly prefer that doesn't happen. Lorna Shore has played at the NHL arena in my area since they blew up, not the real venues. I'm happy enough ppl enjoy that they can cash in to that degree, but personally I strongly prefer shows in places like this video seem to be - bars, smaller venues. That is the life of the scene, not some corporate shyte like your local arena. Lots of successful musicians have talked about this, I remember Dave Mustaine reminiscing to a massive outdoor crowd how much he missed playing small bar shows, lol.

Yeah, I wonder back in the day he had a little weight on em, then he got hella skinny now he put it back on hope he is all good sometimes that can be a sign of stress, but also sometimes people really fluctuate a lot like that, but this has been over time so it doesn’t seem super fast and drastic back and forth. Luckily metal isn’t a fashion show.

What do you mean not your style, this is the kind of breakdown they've been playing since 2016. Are you new?
@darkseidiss3npai2515 ай бұрын
Have you not heard Melancholy and Elegy? Those are SOI’s strongest albums and they don’t have any breakdowns in the same style as this one. Primordial and Reclaimer are weak albums, imo, but to be fair I’m not a deathcore guy, I’m a Death/Thrash guy and Melancholy and Elegy scratch an itch for me that the other albums don’t
@DashhunterLP5 ай бұрын
@@darkseidiss3npai251 Agreed that Melancholy is their strongest album. Primordial isn't for me and Reclaimer has some true gems but overall too core-y for me as well. Elegy was a bit too simplistic for me. Anyway, Dirge of the Void literally has this exact same breakdown style as its intro
@darkseidiss3npai2515 ай бұрын
I’m talking about the final breakdown in this new song. The other breakdown moments sound good and have a nice groove to them, but the ending one feels out of place and too abrupt imo. I’ll save my final judgements for the studio version but at least from what I’m hearing now it kinda has me worried
