you have cavernous sounding growls which is what I like most about any vocals, great work!

Man this is good. If you snuck this track onto my phone and it came on in my car one day, Id have a really difficult time differentiating it from the original. The biggest difference was in the clean chorus screams, but they still sounded awesome. Just different. Your gutturals are very close to Ben's. And thats sayin' something!

Thanks man! It seems that Ben Deurr is considered to be a Deathcore vocalist, but everything I've heard is definitely closer to an old-school Death Metal growler (like Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth, and a couple of Bloodbath's albums) and Black metal (specifically Shagrath from Dimmu Borgir). Both of which are right in my wheelhouse which made it a good fit for me. The clean vocals in the chorus I totally improvised on the spot. hahaha. I could have done that better, I think, but they're such a small part of the song that I kind of let it slide. It's all about the grrrrs. I don't have any engineering or production knowledge though so I can't make anything sound as good as the original.

@@CalebBergen i dunno man. Your screams don't need any "studio magic" to sound as good as Ben's. I would argue that less editing is better. Meaning that your true vocals are genuine

@@CalebBergen ben is a deathcore vocalist cus hes in a deathcore band. however , he doesnt listen to any deathcore himself and hes more into the death metal scene so youre pretty right on that

Very nice job here my dude! Your tone and delivery are on point throughout the entire song! It looks like you post a bunch of sick covers. SOI is such a big influence, maybe you’d dig our new song we just dropped. Either way keep up the fantastic work man as you definitely got the talent! Subbed for more 🤘🏻

@@Earl1403 Matt Heafy of Trivium had been doing screams and shit for about 10 or 11 years before he completely destroyed his vocal chords. Even if you know what you're doing, caution is always necessary.

It's true you can totally fuck your voice up if you're not careful. Lots of vocalists have done damage, mostly touring vocalists that get fatigued and don't have time to rest and warmup. I don't push myself too hard, I ease into it and I rarely if ever feel discomfort unless I do something really outside my range. I actually had an Ear Nose and Throat appointment about a year ago and to my surprise my vocal folds are in near perfect condition. I was expecting a bad report, but I guess I've been doing something right even though I was self-taught.
