This is just a dream that came true. SOTC was the game that got me interested into animation as an art form and has a very special place in my heart. Congratulations to the BluePoint team, they did a fantastic job! One thing I noticed missing here, is Agro's running halt. In the original game, when he was galloping at full speed and you wanted him to make an emergency stop, he would lower his back and hind legs, stretch the front feet ahead, to stop the momentum and then do a trotting gallop, to finally stop. He did this even when there was a "cut scene" with a colossi.... I hope this gets implemented as well... along with all the hidden tricks you can pull off with Agro. :) Also there was a minor glitch in this demo, when the camera tilted up. Same thing happened in the cut scene with "Gaius", the third colossus in another video... When he hits the ground and pieces start to fall off him, the cut was off center and made a weird jump that was offputting. If the developers can work on improving the camera, it will be all this game needs to be perfect. If you agree, please upvote so the developers can see ;) Edit: There's something wrong with Wonder's eyes, I think they are too big..

I dont know. It looks great, it is clearly a fantastic effort with all new assets, all remade for modern gamers and hd displays. But the lighting and color gamma feels weird. Original game had a more dreamy and surreal atmosphere. Also, i know people now are obsessed with 60fps, but this game having such a janky sub 20 fps framerate back in the day (which was not intentional, due to ps2 limitations) and the extreme use of motion blur was also part of that bizarre and dreamy feeling. Anyways, a superb job remaking this game, but still lacking Team Ico's authenticity, something that will never be remade.

Well, the art director of the original was also the actual project director, who is a painter, whose style looks like the games he makes. The dude uses video games to paint. It's an approach still preserved in Last Guardian, which isn't hampered by the limitations of the PS2's hardware. This new version of SotC is very technically impressive, but it's like a realism-style artist remaking a surrealist's design. It's just not going to have the same purpose or personality. It will be an expression of a different kind of mind. I'm sure down the line this remake will also be heavily appreciated, but for separate reasons.

Will Pack Can’t call it competition when Microsoft wasn’t even trying to get exclusive game deals to sell their consoles. As a gamer, I want good games, I can care less about them talking about “true 4k” or “teraflops” or “most powerful console” over and over in every conference. Simply a fairy tale. It will be a real joy to gallop through the world, climbing the shrine one more time, searching for collectibles and admiring the scenery besides main boss fights. Still remember how the places gave different emotions, some pleased with their beauty, like calming atmosphere of the woods, some scared to ****, like fogged and dark geyser area or final colossus. So glad that today's graphics can deliver more realistic experience and make the game looking more "alive", which it actually deserves.

Cescolo read somewhere that originally there were to be 32 colossus, maybe even 64. But the devs decided to condense the colossus count to 16, mainlt because of memory and time constraints, but also because they did not believe the new colossus were defining enough to be in the game.

Realizing that putting in that many colossi was not possible, he cut the number down to 24 - half the original number. Eventually, the number of colossi used in the game became 16, with the 8 unused colossi appearing only in the artbook. Some are quasi-prototype versions of colossi that survived the final version of the game, other designs were discarded to improve game flow and some were cut for reasons unknown

The only two things i don't like a bit is Wander's face (it seems too much different from the original game) and Wander's mantle physics (it seems a little bit worse than the original). In general i think they've done a great job! Can't wait to play it!

Honestly, I seriously doubt they remade EVERY animation from scratch. It'd be way too much work for just one to three animators working on the team and most importantly most of the animation look just way too similar. I think it's much more believable that they took the old animations and just ported them into the new models and tweaked them wherever needed. Much less work and the game looks the same so nobody complains about it changing too much. Plus the original animations where honestly god-tier already so no need to change anything.

Do people realize when theyre asking for the unused colossi just how ambitious that request is? This isnt team ico making this, so they wouldnt have anything to go off of, it would surely bump up the price of the game to $60, and plus, those colossi were all left out of the game for a reason, whether it was time constraint, difficulties balancing it, and them being too similar to other colossi already in the game. Idk just my thoughts on that topic

Onyx VII7 well adding them in would be creating 7 (or 8?) new colossi from scratch going off of nothing more than concept art and descriptions of them. Theyd also have to change the design of the overworld because team ico has said before that if the unused colossi were to have been in the game. The map would have been much different. If you ask me those 2 reasons alone show me how big of a request that is.

As a i can remember the devs said that they won´t add up any extra material that wasn´t originally in the game BUT Fumito Ueda told i few months ago in an interview that he´d do anything possible to add some extras to the game. So let´s hope that the original director had the enough decision power over the producer to convince them. If it´s only a Shadow of Colossus with nice textures and good framerate i definitely won´t buy it, i don´t care if it´s one of my favorite games ever.

Wander's hairstyle looks so neatly combed in this version. I personally liked the spiky original but whatever. I'll bear with it...unless Bluepoint Games has the original hairstyle as a secret or Wander's hairstyle also changes the more colossi he kills. But then this is the 8th colossi and it still looks neat.

Wow! This game looks great! I never played this on the PS2 or the PS3. I did however get the the PS3 remaster that had ICO, installed the 2 games, but I never actually got around to playing them. >_< I think now is a good time for me to actually play; especially since I recently got a PS4 Pro and a 4K TV (didn't set it up yet; been busy with work). I'm impressed how much they've improved the graphics while keeping the frame rate very very stable and. I hope BluePoint can go back and do more remasters on the PS4 up to this quality for things like: - Devil May Cry - Devil May Cry 2 - Devil May Cry 3 Special - Devil May Cry 4 Special - Onimusha - Onimusha 2 - Onimusha 3 - Onimusha Dawn of Dream - God of War - God of War 2 - God of War 3 - God of War Ascnesion - God of War Chains of Olympus - God of War Ghost of Sparta
