@6utS7 жыл бұрын
og ps4 renders the game at 1080p30fps, u cant get 4k on pro since its 4x the pixels(which means gpu power/memory bandwith needs to almost quadruple), u get 78% more pixels with 1440p30fps mode on pro or 100% amount of pixels with 1080p60fps mode which is consistent with pro's gpu that is just a bit over 2x stronger from og ps4's gpu.

Same here. Don't think hours include falling off the top of the Colossus over and over. Maybe there for a perfect playthrough? I know I spent way more hours on the original game than was listed here but it was from fighting the same Colossus over and over until I finally beat him then moving on to the next. I usually get 2-3 times as many hours as gamers who claim they have 100% a game because they got all trophies and I get more gameplay from the same games without trophy hunting at all.
@oasisbeyond7 жыл бұрын
You get lost a few times in this game cuz the sword points you to where the other Colossi were... But yeah, it's around 10 to 15, knowing what to do I can beat it under 3 hours on my second play through. But, there's a lot of secrets, killing lizards and eating fruit from trees that improve your health and stamina. Not sure how they handled this in this version but it was brutal on ps3, lizards would not appear or disappear, it was a mess to get 100% but I did :)

That's really awesome of you to do man, giving away a copy of the game I mean. It's a rare thing for people to stand by their principles, and only serves to make everything you say that much more trustworthy (which I'm sure you're aware of). Basically I guess I'm just trying to say thanks for actually caring enough to provide us every day consumers honest and as fact based as possible insights into games we care about. It is certainly appreciated and hopefully not taken for granted.

Bluepoint is amazing. If they become more than just a remastering/remaking studio for Sony, I will be very happy. They need their own game. I love Team Ico, but can they let Bluepoint to touch up on its camera angles, controls on their next game? If it would ever come out.
@manki87067 жыл бұрын
The problem is that we just assume that if they'd make their own game, that it'll be good. But who knows if they actually are creative enough to pull it off? Maybe their own game will just look pretty like they do with the remakes, but has no content thats worth playing. I think if they really had the potential to work on their own game, they would already do it.
@oasisbeyond7 жыл бұрын
Well they are using everything from the original game... Even the coding is the same, so who knows if they can make a "Good Game" Fans can remaster games pretty easily too... Just takes less time with a bigger team to do it.

I really miss games like this in the modern age where you didn’t have to ignore your family and other aspects of life just to finish a game. I mean, I understand that some people like to have 100s of hours of gameplay for them feel like a game is a good value but there is something to be said for a beautiful, concise experience that can be completed in about 10 hours. I didn’t get to play much of this back in the day and this feels like the time to give it a go with this awesome remaster. Great review, as always, Karak.
@juliansalazar70977 жыл бұрын
Been playing the shit out of DBZ and Monster Hunter I just haven’t had the time because of heavy work hours.. but when this comes it I’m dropping everything to get into this. I’ll definitely be playing in the 1080p 60fps mode.. They absolutely nailed this remake and I honestly believe that Bluepoint is one of the best developers out there. To create an older game from scratch and to nail it to the extent they did; it’s just incredible.. I’d really like them to see them create their own IP.

Bluepoint Games is the king when it comes to HD remakes (Uncharted the Nathan Drake Collection, Gravity Rush Remastered, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, etc). Shadow of the Colossus for the PS4 is no different in that regard. The original PS2 version is a timeless classic and it's a game that still holds up quiet well even today. Of course, the PS4 remake brings forth a level of detail and polish that simply wasn't possible on the PS2 and PS3. I have some fond memories from having played this game back in the day. I'm glad to see it get a quality remake on the newer hardware. The game costs only $40, which is a fair asking price, unlike most other $60 HD remakes or HD remasters. Admittedly, it's been quiet a while since I played Shadow of the Colossus and I definitely look forward to playing it on the PS4. Thanks Karak for another awesome review. I really appreciate it!

As an Equestrian, they nailed the horse. It has the most realistic body, movements, mane and tail of any horse in a game. That says a lot since previously Red Dead and Zelda BOTW were the best (with the new ACO a close 3rd).....this horse even beats red dead. That tail physics is amazing!! I wish all games would make a horse model like this, its so good Im considering buying the remastered version just for that so that says something!!
