There is a 2nd dragon form you can have when solving a painting. It look like the dragon warrior you fight for the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana, i love it.

Because I was just randomly exploring, I actually entered the Shadow Keep through the church district and basically done the WHOLE place backwards 😂. I love that you pretty much have the freedom to do whatever the hell you want!

Welp, a bit to late haha. I was exploring last night, heard a bell, a message on the screen popped up and bam, I'm now sol when it comes to those npc quests, no warning or anything, just by exploring. Oh well, cest la vie. But your vids are amazing keep it up

I have a few minor gripes about Elden Ring (and the Souls games in general), but this is the sole MAJOR gripe I have with these games. You're doing exactly what most of us are doing, just exploring the world seeing what we can find and experience. However, we can inadvertently trigger major story items or lose out on some excellent quests or rewards simply by exploring and crossing some arbitrary, invisible line. I'm sorry, this game is indeed a masterpiece, but this one thing is an absolutely terrible design decision (they do this in all their games and still have not learned they suck the fun out with this decision).

Yeah, I had the NPC advancement happen when I was on the east side of the map by the Whipping Hut. I think it's not where you are specifically, but rather how far away from the starting area you are.

@@woods0419yeah and its so hard to do some npc quest on ur own its almost mandatory to look up guides. (Spoiler warning) like when you go to the purple guy St. Trina or smt like that you have to imbibe his necter like 6 times which all kill you to get his dialogue like how would someone figure that out without looking it up 😭

You can get the dragon form after beating the boss regardless of the priestess quest, i never even knew there was a quest and suddenly i found her loot when i went back to the altar, so it kinda works like nepheli or yura and getting the stormhawk axe/long katana

Great video. Another thing. If you go to the bonney village event will also trigger. So if you don't wantbto proceed or lose side quest, be careful.

THAT'S NOT THE ONLY TRIGGER FOR ADVANCEMENT I was nowhere close to the shadow keep when it happened. I went east on the plateau, through the ruins into the bony village When i got past the bony village into the forest that leads into the church of Manus something the pop-up happened, again, nowhere close to the shadow keep Maybe there's even more trigger points around the plateau

Same. I just exploring moort ruin, go into a tunnel to bony village, cross the bridge and message pop up. Yhe thing is i haven't triggered st teina quest before this and now i'm afraid i messed up and can't trigger the quest.

I don't remember where it was, but it definitely wasn't in front of the keep for me lol I was heading to pickup an item somewhere and got the pop-up

There's an entire line involving Altus you should not cross not just the shadow keep I made the mistake of going towards the cathedral and messed up the poison dudes quest because that made the event happen as a result

I didn't do ansbach or tholliers until after rune break. They are doable until you enter the final dungeon.

I also made this mistake. It should be noted that exploring the church district can also trigger the event that progresses the npc's stories. I saw that PSA and thought I was safe exploring Altus Scadu as long as I didn't approach the front of the Shadow Keep, but getting too close to it from the Church District is also dangerous.

Just to add on to the first part about the event and shadow keep, it happens if you go the back way too, as soon as you cross the bridge from Bonny, right before the big church.

Lmao I found the arrow talisman just by accident as I was terrified of the mini boss greeting me, I ran all the way to the cliff. Also, I'm afraid to admit this, after the tower, you can jump to the ledge and can cheese the boss from there using ranged attacks. :D

Base game and dlc have been really fun, but some if not most of the quests are so convoluted, impossible to figure out all the steps and try not to mess it up

Wow, I was just at the southern tip of the cerulean coast wondering how to get to that island. I looked around there for like 20 minutes and never found the cave that led over to that island. Hey another PSA- if you go to the 'Bridge Leading to the Village" grace you will also trigger the thing that happens at shadow keep and progress the world state!

You might want to check both hill side infront of the shadow keep 😊 Left of Highroad Cross in the map there is a near by waterfall you might want to check the right side facing Castle Ensis, Hoping Josh will use it 😊 NPC phase 2 will trigger as well if you go east of bonny village.. it happened to me 😅..

Its not just the shadow keep that triggers the rune break. If you go through Bonny billage using the Moore Ruins shortcut and cross the vridge itll also break the great rune.

If you get Bonny village and lite the second site of grace, you WILL trigger the second phase for the NPCs...I would leave Bonny Village for last - you've been warned.

Does anyone know if triggering the event near the keep will RUIN any questlines? I'm pretty sure I found everyone you can before that point but randomly had the thing happen and now everyone is triggered into their next part now.

Is any KZbinr going to acknowledge that this game in no way implemented a need for anything new. You can collect your blessing upgrades and beat the game with original game gear and weapons. Nothing about the difficulty or damage scaling makes all these new weapons nothing but a slight upgrade or a fun side quest.

I mean that’s how all souls games have been, if you’re prepared you shouldn’t be held back by forcing you to use new weapons especially when there might not be one to fit your build.

In mine I just beat rellana and one of the people standing at 3 cross is gone (the dude not the woman). In fact he was gone before I even saw rellana I think. Did I mess up anything?

Its not only getting close to the Shadow keep. If you go through Bonny village and cross the two bridges on the way to Ymir, the message also pops up and advances the NPC's. I was trying to avoid the keep until I could find all the NPCs, but going to Ymir screwed it up. I hope i did everything i needed.
