Thing is, even though he was saying it due to turning, he was right. She betrayed him, let alone left him to die after seeing taking the ring would kill him, but NOW after having lost both the ring and Calebrimbor does she crawl back to him. Let alone have the audacity to demand Talion's ring while the battle has not yet been won. "You are not alone" my ass, he's been fighting this battle while everyone else always had some ulterior motive and ditched him when they no longer needed to fight the fight.

Would have been a real good time for Eltariel to apologize. Though I'm not sure why she asked for the ring when they weren't even out of Mordor yet. "Don't let me die in this cursed land". "Hey, give me that ring that will cause you to bleed out and die, while we're still in Minis Tirith". She really doesn't know how to say the right thing, at the right time. She may have saved him in the main game, but in the end she's a failure. She couldn't even dominate and release him, like what happened with Isildur.

@@chadnorris8257 , a better ending would have been if she: 1. apologized to Talion. 2. gave him a choice to die in a place out of Mordor 3. dominate him to the point that he looses the ring Isildur had before and then kill him. But i believe this better ending would contradict the true ending of Shadow of War. In general this DLC is bad. Eltariel is an unlikeable character. That DLC with Baronor is better.

I don't think it was fitting, I think after the main story the writers just had very little options on what to do with Talion, at the end of the main story shelob said that talion eventually fell to darkness. In order to stay true with that ending they made talion the final boss. By all means I think it could have ended better for Talion.

It could be argued that it was Celebrimbor, who was trying to dominate Sauron, rather than Eltariel. On the other hand, they both agreed that Sauron cannot be destroyed, so domination seemed like the only solution.

I have a few things that I don't like about this DLC 1.Talion shouldn't have turned full Nazgül and this fight should not have happened because Talion resisted the Ring's corruption for decades which is anywhere from 10-99 years 2.All this would have been fixed if the Elf would just Give Talion the perfect ring instead of selfishly holding onto it while Talion constantly struggles to keep his sanity.

neither could take off their rings. they are rings of power even if the new ring wasnt corrupted by Sauron u could say it was corrupted by Celebrimbor both Talion's ring and the new ring were similar in which they have a will of their own. Talion couldnt take his ring off because as soon as he put it on he was basically owned by Sauron. Eltariel couldnt take off hers as she was too enchanted by it. it is nearly impossible for a ring bearer to take off their ring

@kaelyn elizabeth pretty sure the flashback you get of talions life in mordor up until that point are shared between talion and eltariel, perhaps it reminds him of who he is. so when we stop playing the DLC and go back to freeroam as talion nazgul, we still fight to keep mordor in a state of war. eventually though, talion would forget again and he would then become a full fleged nazgul, pretty sure thats when the witch king comes to him again. i could be wrong though

1 - We can't say for certain just how long Blade of Galadriel took in real-time, plus Talion would rather not show the ome planning to kill him weakness. He was going to fall eventually, and I'm willing to bet the journey he and Eltariel took on that Drake wasn't just a couple minutes, likely closer to an hour or more. Plenty of time for him to decay from barely being able to stand as himself to completely giving in (Eltariel's poor choice of words certainly didn't help). I'm also thinking Talion was still slightly resisting the Ring in this fight, seeing as how he wasn't using literally every ability he's gained over his long battles. Don't forget he always wanted to die and be with his family, and Eltariel killing him would have granted that. 2 - Consider how the New Ring is the following - Celebrimbor's greatest crafted Ring of Power (even refined in Mount Doom to rival Sauron's One Ring), one that was created to be bound to Celebrimbor in the same way the One Ring was to Sauron, and was designed to Dominate to the point that it very nearly Dominated Sauron himself (and certainly would have if one of Men were using it instead). These points mean it's likely just as if not more tempting than the One Ring to anyone (thus Eltariel won't think to give it up, as even Galadriel was tempted by the One Ring), plus its greater proximity to Celebrimbor means it's possibly even more dangerous to even look at. If Talion took that Ring back he would likely have been Dominated by Celebrimbor on the spot (he's clearly already worn down by a lesser Ring), and with a body that has the Gift of Man Celebrimbor would likely have won the Eye battle. Granted, all Talion had to do at the dlc's start was give Eltariel information about his fort attacks then take the Ring off, but even by that point he would still not relinquish it (he would rationalise it by saying it is how half of Mordor is on his side still).

I just wanna say Props to Talion's willpower here, took him a hundred years to be corrupted by the same power that corrupted almost every other person within a few weeks. Heck with The New Ring, Talion was completely unaffected by the corruption that comes from having that much power in his hands while Celebrimbor succumbed to that power almost instantly.

That would be near impossible to beat although it would be really unique. Think of what players do usually. They target the AI's weakness. Now think of an AI that could do that to you. To counter your movements and exploit your weakness. For instance, curse in this case, would nullify most of your abilities, or he would go for an unblockable when you try to heal, keep you out of focus or light as much as possible. It would be a true battle and one worthy of Talion. Also, my necromancer/vendeta/mystic build is OP as it is... giving it's abilities to Talion in this scene would be OP for him but it would do the character justice and i wouldn't mind a bit

I mean, if you are going to nitpick this I would like to point out that, as Talion. in the first game the only boons you had were your skills and whatever powers Celebrimbor had and gave you. In this game, in the beginning you're struggling against hordes of grunts and low level captains you would've mopped the floor with in the first game. And you're wearing a RING OF POWER THAT CAN DOMINATE SUARON, THE BIG BAD EVIL DUDE. You are basically arguing suspension of disbelief against game mechanics, which is a losing battle.

It would have been really nice if we got to fight talion in Osgiliath and after a head on clash with him, it then turns into a mini game of hide and seek between the two of you, sneaking around the ruins. Basically mix all of the player's kit into a boss fight with Talion who has similar abilities.

I love how the light of galadriel and vaulting completely cheeses the fight, even on the hardest difficulty, you could kill talion before he gets to swing his sword. He doesn't even get the chance to call his nazgul allies He will throw knives though

I love seeing the "this isn't a good ending to talion" but this tells me that no one finished the shadow wars, which does in fact have an ending to them. They do take a hell of a long time to get through but effectively in this regard they say that talion goes and eventually falls to the corruption of the ring and joins the nazgul, having held them off for decades so that the world of middle earth could hold on, which is likely right when sauron sends the nazgul to go and find frodo and ring in the first movie. I also enjoy that this does go full circle as even if eltariel asked for the ring from him, she couldn't have won the fight for it as he won the first time around. Yeah it was a bit depressing that she sacrificed talion in the first place but finish the shadow war and you get the ending you might be wanting which is a direct nod to the films and then a really happy passing on scene.

Either way Talion's reaction to Celebrimbor's plan in the story was pretty good for his story just this DLC fucked things up and Eltariel is lowkey a horribly written character

Changes i would have done. Talion either doesn't use the Palantir during the first meeting, or we have the ability to use it when we play as Talion. For example sacrifice some skillpoints, and gain all intel about all captains. Put some parts where Talion asks for the new ring, but Eltariel refuses, because she loves it's power. The final battle wouldn't be against Nazgul Talion, but against a pissed off one. He can sense the impending doom from his ring, and try to take the new ring by force. Eltariel would barely escape. Maybe some of her orcs would come for the aid, and cause distraction so she can run. Like that simp of hers.

Playing as Talion is far more fun than playing as this woman. I feel ripped off having bought the gold edition only for the 2 dlc to be separate games. I won't fall for that again. They didn't need to make Talion a bad guy either. The whole game is based around backstabbing betrayals, so I guess it fits their theme.

There’s one huge plot. Hole is that it’s said the new ring equals power of all the 9 rings and yet when talion puts one of them on he holds back the corruption and gets the power to dominate back makes absolutely no sense and when he fights eltariel he should have lost the moment the battle took place because she has the new ring she could have dominated his will bringing him back or give him the ring back and why not purge the rest of the nazgul then destroy their rings that would cut of a fraction of saurons power giving them a chance to defeat the eye they could in theory free celebrimbor then dominated Sauron and save middle earth

The reason why Talion is stronger with the Ringwraith ring is because he has become stronger throughout his journey. Talion is slowly losing power as he slowly succumbs to the ring. Eltariel doesn’t have the power to dominate someone as strong as Talion. It was Talion and Celebrimbor together who dominated the Nazgul. Shelob says that if Celebrimbor was still bound to Talion they would’ve had the power to dominate Sauron. Lastly, Eltariel didn’t give the ring to Talion because she didn’t trust him with it. Instead of killing Talion like she was instructed to she wanted him to die by his own hand by surrendering the ring.

....uh, lads, i just had a thought. what if that ring in particular, because it was isuildurs, who was dead when he was given it, and has control over raising the dead - what if that ring in particular slowly kills you over time until you're full fledged nazghul? that would explain why he seems so tired and in pain and why he says "my pain is gone, my life is gone" or when he turns to her and says "this ring is mine, and talion is no more". i think he'd be no more talion, then an undead gondorian, raised by isuldur, would be their old selves, and we saw that wasnt the case with castimer i dont think at that point, even having celibrimbors ring back would save him....truly, death is his only release, which he would not find for some time :( at least until she stabbed him, what if, cause she had the light of hypocritical cunt when she stabed him, what if that restored some semblance of who he was? then we can go back to being talion in free-roam.

There where so many fucking options we could of chose instead of death, but the plot needs a strong female for the next game

If by good you mean before he worn the dark lords ring, and bound to Celebrimbor, then it would be quite an even match. If by good you men before he died for the first time, then good Talion would lose badly. At least from gameplay perspective. However if by bad you mean after his fall vs before his fall, then the good one would win. Before his fall he beaten this elf, and even Sauron admits, that Talion was stronger. After his fall he was beaten while being aided by other Nazgul. I think that the ring's subjugating power also reduce the wearers ability to fight. Or perhaps Talion is weak here, because he still has some humanity in him to hold back.

We never fight the Witch king with Celebrimbor+the new ring. It could be, that Talion is far stronger with the dark ring, but against Eltariel he holds back both times. Even during the final battle while Talion fell his humanity might still be inside, and deep down knows that this fight is wrong. Kinda like Banner holds back the Hulk. Despite the Hulk being in control while transformed.
