Loved the guide! Very thorough. Looks like shadow is back on the menu - Archon all the way for me. I will be dancing on the graves of mind spike and dark ascension, at least for this patch.

I like it more that void eruption just from playing with it, and the wings look really cool. I don't talent into spike at all either and it seems good for flay/torrent Playstyle. Idk 🫡

I really hope they do some tuning before the season starts. It sucks that the hero spec that fits most thematically, and looks the coolest, is so far behind in nearly all content.

Does the 20% buff to void blast do much in terms of evening out the 2 hero talents?

Definitely makes them closer in raid, only 1-2% in most cases. Question then comes down to if the fight design will work with Entropic Rift and bosses teleporting everywhere. Mythic+ is still heavily leaning Archon once you get into higher push keys tho

Thanks for the awesome overview. :) what is your opinion on the cloth crafted embellishment set that buffs haste or mastery for 30 seconds? It reads super fun but you didn‘t mention it.

Unfortunately it is currently very under tuned and not a suggested craft. Also the haste one by default is healing spells only and to convert it to damage you need a 3rd craft for wrists. There are some bugs with it though so perhaps after fixing those it might be better

How do we play when we dont have that much insanity build up? I always find myself now just auto attacking cause everything is on cd and insanity is too low to cast instants. In df with mind spike it was basic build abd spend

If you don’t have anything left to press you should always have Mind Flay to cast. If you have to move you can cast shadow word pain but should never have to auto attack

Actually surprised deathspeaker not being default on voidweaver, If i wanna run deathspeaker in order to milk more value from devour matter, for example for the last boss of the raid what talent point should i drop?

You can drop yshaarj but yeah just not a lot of point options with voidweaver unfortunately

It's very relative to your group. If you are chain-pulling packs or they have started living 60s+ then its probably in the high key range.

Quite a lot. You can’t play voidweaver at all without it and archon likes it for the insanity gen. Roughly 5-8% loss.

i know it’s not super balanced but i kind of don’t mind that voidweaver is better in lower keys. i think playing DA and voidweaver early on will be fun and when you push up you get to swap to VE / archon. DA was already historically better when pugging low pull counts so i’m used to swapping back and forth. should hopefully be balanced one day but i don’t hate the path of trying both

I have maimed shadow for so long but it’s such a snooze fest rn I swapped to monk. Not to mention how buggy shadow crash is even the new one they made sucks so bad. And there’s way too many enemies with small health pools like little side adds which you have no time to dot up. Painful
